I am so excited to finally announce that I am now a fully trained mediator! I set a goal a few years ago to complete both the basic mediation certification and the domestic roster certification, including the mentorship! Feels so good to complete that goal. A huge shout out to Karrie Ketchum who was my mentor and to the mediators I have worked with over the years who I aspire to be like! I have been waiting to make this announcement in conjunction with my new website. Feels good to accomplish goals.

I just finished four years is service on the board of the Indian Law Section of the Utah State Bar. I was one of the founding members 4 years ago and spent the last year as president. I wish the continuing board luck in their continued service.

Barriers to justice for Native domestic violence victims and their children are compounded by tribal protection order complications arising out of a complex tribal, federal, and state jurisdictional scheme, lack of NCIC access, and state enforcement failures.

As you know from watching the news, Indian reservations have been hit particularly hard by the COVID pandemic. Tribal communities suffer from housing shortages, overcrowding, lack of medical resources, food and water insercurity, and a disproportionate amount of people with underlying medical conditions like diabetes and heart and lung issues. Please join with JENKINS LAW OFFICE, the Indian Law Section of the Utah State Bar, and a number of private and public partners in raising funds and equipment to help fight the COVID pandemic in Indian Country. Monetary donations are directed to all tribes, through the Utah Division of Indian Affairs. Supplies can be dropped off at the addresses provided. Thank you in advance for helping our neighbors fight this battle.
