The Clerk of the Circuit Courts plays a vital role in Delaware County by maintaining official court records, processing filings and court documents. More importantly, the Clerk oversees voter registration, handles candidate filings, prepares ballots and voting machines, certifies results for local, state, and federal elections, and maintains the integrity of our elections.

As an attorney for 23 years I can confidently say that Sharon McShurley is the only person running who is qualified to serve as Delaware County Clerk.

Sharon holds a Master of Public Affairs degree with a concentration in policy analysis and has experience working in and with local government, as well as addressing legislative issues at the local, state, and federal levels. Sharon is a former Mayor of Muncie and Yorktown Town Court Clerk who has spent years serving her community and working in positions that require leadership, organization, accountability, and trust.

This year’s election is seemingly more consequential than ever before. There are people either opening running as democratic socialists and communists or exposing those ideals. Not one time in the history of the world has socialism, Marxism, or communism ever worked. Every single time it has resulted in mass poverty, starvation, and death - Joseph Stalin in the Soviet Union and Mao Zedong in China as the biggest examples. I would like to echo and underscore what NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch has recently said. A memorial wall located in the footprints of the Twin Towers which includes almost 3,000 names of the victims as well as hundreds of others commemorating NYPD, NYFD, and others who have died of Ground Zero-related illnesses - preserves the unfathomable devastation from the attack on the World Trade Center towers and the heroism in response. Preserving that history also means preserving its moral clarity. We must not forget that the cowardly radical Islamists who attacked us were terrorists. Conversely, the men and women who ran into the towers to save innocent lives were heroes. Twenty-five years cannot be allowed to blur that distinction, and shame on those who do.

The night before.......

On this night September 10, 2001, 25 years ago, 246 people went to sleep in preparation for their morning flights. 2,606 people went to sleep in preparation for work in the morning. 343 firefighters went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift. 60 police officers went to sleep in preparation for morning patrol. 8 paramedics went to sleep in preparation for the morning shift.

None of them saw past 10:00am Sept 11, 2001. In one single moment life may never be the same. As you live and enjoy the breaths you take today and tonight before you go to sleep in preparation for your life tomorrow, kiss the ones you love, snuggle a little tighter, and never take one second of your life for granted. Never forget.

Socialism, Communism, Marxism – there are a lot of “isms” floating around these days. Unfortunately, our school systems and mainstream media outlets do not always do a good job at teaching what all the “isms” mean and how they have resulted in the government’s confiscation of private property and the deaths of millions upon millions of innocent men, women and children over the course of history. If you are interested in learning the history and the horrors of socialism, communism, and Marxism; Hillsdale College offers a great FREE online lecture series entitled “Marxism, Socialism, and Communism” that explores the history and the real world meaning behind these failed social experiments. I have taken the course and can attest that it is interesting, enlightening, and informative. I hope you take the opportunity to take the course. It is so important that we, as citizens of a free nation, must reject socialism, communism, and Marxism and leave these failed social experiments in the dustbin of history where they belong. 🇺🇸📜 August 2nd is the day the Founders actually put pen to parchment!🇺🇸📜

Congress approved the Declaration on July 4, 1776 — but the formal parchment copy wasn’t engrossed and signed until August 2. On July 19, Congress ordered the Declaration to be “fairly engrossed” on parchment and signed by every member. Timothy Matlack, a Philadelphia scribe, hand-lettered the document. On August 2nd, the delegates gathered at the Pennsylvania State House and began signing — John Hancock first, centered and bold, followed by delegates organized by state from New Hampshire to Georgia.

56 men ultimately signed. Not all were present that day. Some signed later. Some who voted for independence on July 4th had already left Congress. Some who signed on August 2nd hadn't even been delegates on the 4th.

Every signature was an act of treason against the Crown — and an act of faith in a new nation. 🇺🇸
