Jones Law Office is pleased to report a significant appellate victory on behalf of our client, Timothy Stabosz. On December 22, 2025, the Indiana Court of Appeals issued a unanimous 3-0 decision reinstating the 2024 jury verdict in the defamation litigation between former LaPorte County Auditor, Timothy Stabosz, and former LaPorte County Attorney, Shaw Friedman. South Bend, Indiana — Jones Law Office is pleased to announce that Attorney Ashley Mills Colborn has joined the firm. Ms. Colborn brings over 15 years of legal experience in public service and the judiciary to her new role in private practice. Prior to joining Jones Law Office, Ms. Colborn served as Magistrate Judge for the St. Joseph County Probate Court, where she presided over Child in Need of Services (CHINS) cases for six years. Ms. Colborn began her legal career in 2009 with the Indiana Department of Child Services, where she advanced to the position of Assistant General Counsel. She joined the City of South Bend as Assistant City Attorney in 2016, providing legal counsel to various city departments.

Ms. Colborn earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Radford University in 2005 and her Juris Doctor degree from Valparaiso University School of Law in 2009. She was admitted to the Indiana Bar in 2009. Ms. Colborn’s specialties include all domestic relations issues, including child custody and parenting time modifications, adoptions, Child In Need of Services actions, Termination of Parental Rights matters, and guardianships.
