Jones Law Office is pleased to announce that Attorney Graham Polando has joined the firm. Mr. Polando brings a unique blend of judicial leadership, trial experience, and legal scholarship to his new role in private practice.
Prior to joining Jones Law Office, Mr. Polando served for more than twelve years as Magistrate of the St. Joseph Probate Court in South Bend, where he primarily heard juvenile delinquency and Child in Need of Services (CHINS) cases. He also carried a regular family law docket and heard cases involving estates and adult guardianships, and he served as special judge in other civil matters. While on the bench, he was the Chair of the Indiana Office of Court Servicesโ Juvenile Advisory Committee.
Mr. Polando is a respected author and contributor to Indiana legal practice resources. He authored Volumes 14, 15, and 15A of Westโs Indiana Practice series on Family Law, and he is responsible for updating Robert L. Miller Jr.โs Volumes 12, 13 and 13B of the same series covering Evidence law. He has also published written work in professional and academic journals.
Mr. Polando earned a Bachelor of Arts in History, Political Science, and Philosophy from Hillsdale College in 2004, a Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 2007, and a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice from Boston University in 2011.
Before his judicial service, Mr. Polando served as sole or first-chair counsel in twenty jury trials and assisted as second-chair counsel in six additional jury trials. He is a past chair of the Indiana State Bar Associationโs Legal Ethics Committee and continues to serve as a volunteer with the Indiana Supreme Courtโs Judges and Lawyers Assistance Program (JLAP).
