This is especially true when things aren’t going well or as expected, but it’s just as true when things are just as we want them.
Nothing stays the same-our world is constantly changing.
This isn’t to say we shouldn’t celebrate our victories and heal from things that have caused us pain.
All we can do is focus on the present moment and do our best in each moment and prepare for what’s next.

Don’t blow up the relationship you and your soon to be ex have with your kids just because you’re getting divorced.
Your children are just that, they aren’t friends and under no circumstances should you share the details of the divorce or trash talk their other parent to them.
What and how much your children need to hear varies by age, but at its core, all children need to hear that you will still be a family, your family will look different from what they’ve become accustomed to, the divorce is not their fault, and that both of their parents will continue to love them no matter what. That’s it, no need to embellish any further.
If you love your children, protect them by teaching them how to remain respectful even amid such challenging times. How you behave and handle the situation will provide a model of behavior for them to follow when they become adults.
