Gregory T. “Greg” Brewers practices primarily in the area of family or matrimonial law. He is the managing partner for the firm. Greg has a broad background in family law, criminal defense, municipal law, business law and estate planning. However, for the past 15 years his primary focus has been family law, including divorce, child custody, child support and alimony matters.

Greg graduated from St. John's University in 1991 with a bachelor's degree in Social Science, and the University of South Dakota School of Law in December of 1994. He was admitted to the South Dakota State Bar in the spring of 1995. In early 1996, Greg was also admitted to the U.S. District Court for the District of South Dakota and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit.

From 1995 to 1996, Greg served as the law clerk for South Dakota’s Seventh Judicial Circuit Court in Rapid City, South Dakota. Since 1996, he has been practicing law in the Sioux Falls area. Over ninety percent of his practice is now in the area of divorce and child custody disputes.

Greg previously served as a Commissioner of the State Bar of South Dakota. In addition, he is a prior Chairman of the South Dakota Criminal Pattern Jury Instruction Committee, and was a longtime member of that Committee. He is also a current member of the South Dakota State Bar Committee on Family Law, and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee.

To qualify to become a Fellow of the AAML, the attorney must demonstrate an active interest and competency in matrimonial law as evidenced by the fulfillment of criteria and standards as established by the AAML™ Board of Examiners and Board of Governors. Fellows of the AAML must have substantial experience and ability to handle complex matters relating to custody and support of children, property division and alimony. Applicants to become Fellows must also pass a rigorous written examination covering a wide range of topics, and must be recognized by area judges and fellow attorneys as a leading practitioner in the area of matrimonial law.
