Yesterday, members of the Shreveport Bar Association gathered at Holy Trinity Catholic Church for the annual Red Mass in observance of Law Day.

This tradition brings together judges, attorneys, and community leaders to seek guidance, wisdom, and integrity in the administration of justice.

We are grateful to all who joined us for this meaningful service as we reflect on the important role of the legal profession in serving our community.

Today, the Shreveport Bar Association gathered at the Petroleum Club to celebrate Law Day 2026, centered on this year’s theme: “The Rule of Law and the American Dream.” 🇺🇸⚖️

Led by SBA President J. Marshall Rice, the luncheon highlighted the importance of the rule of law in protecting our rights and shaping opportunities for future generations. Attendees heard from keynote speaker Zachary Keller, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Louisiana, and celebrated outstanding members of our community.

We were proud to recognize this year’s Liberty Bell Award recipient, Mike Spence, for his dedication to advancing the rule of law, and to honor our local student essay contest winners for their thoughtful reflections on the American Dream.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating Law Day and supporting the continued impact of our local legal community!

We’re proud to support the impactful work SBF continues to do!

As current President of the Shreveport Bar Association, Marshall Rice joined Linnae Magyar from the Shreveport Bar Foundation Pro Bono Project to highlight free legal resources available to our community.

The SBF, the charitable arm of the SBA, provides support through programs like heirship property assistance, domestic violence resources, and so much more.

At a time when these conversations matter more than ever, we’re grateful to share resources that can truly make a difference in our community. If you or someone you know needs help, the Shreveport Bar Foundation is a great place to start!

We are so excited to launch a new series we have titled "Spotlight on a Support Staff" where we feature one member of the LCSSC to recognize and praise for all their hard work and dedication!
