Clearing an out-of-state suspension? Make sure you have the right documentation.

The Massachusetts RMV may accept a clearance letter or out-of-state driving record as proof of clearance. If the suspension resulted from identity theft or you were mistaken for someone else, documentation from that state’s DMV may also be accepted.

Keep in mind: these documents must be less than 30 days old to be valid.

Another Gilman Law P.C. win!

Our client was charged with OUI after a trooper claimed they showed signs of impairment and performed poorly on field sobriety tests, with a .14 breath test result.

At trial, Attorney Julie Gaudreau used body-worn camera footage to challenge the trooper’s testimony, showing our client did not have slurred speech or bloodshot eyes and performed well on the tests.

The judge ultimately found our client NOT GUILTY. 👏

Can an OUI show up on a background check in Massachusetts? The short answer is yes.

Most background checks in Massachusetts rely on the state’s Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) system. Because an OUI is a criminal offense in Massachusetts, it is generally part of your CORI record.
