Pudyk Law Office: Practice Areas

We are often asked what type of law we practice. Estate Planning: What if you were to unexpectedly die or something was to happen to you and you were left disabled or mentally incapacitated? Do you have someone who can legally make decisions regarding your care or the care of your family? Estate planning allows you to plan for these unexpected tragedies and ensur

e that you and your loved ones are protected and provided for in the way that you best see fit. Probate and Estate Administration: This type of law is entered into after an individual is deceased. When a person passes away, much administrative work needs to be done concerning filing of the will, distribution of assets, and payments to creditors. These types of tasks can be stressful and overwhelming, especially in the aftermath of a death of a loved one. Christy is an experienced and compassionate attorney who can handle these matters for you, without causing you extra stress or worry. She can also protect the personal representative, or more commonly known as β€˜executor’, from making a mistake in the handling of an estate. Business and Commercial Law: Are you starting up a business, or do you already have a business? Make sure your personal assets are protected from future business liability. Christy offers a variety of affordable services for small businesses including: drafting contracts and buy sell agreements, transferring an existing DBA into a LLC or a Corporation, and representation at court in litigation matters for both small and large cases. Traffic and Criminal: The fine associated with receiving a ticket isn’t the only cost you’ll be paying if you receive a moving violation. Insurance companies increase rates and add extra fees for receiving points on your record from those pesky traffic tickets. Even if the ticket is considered a zero-point offense by the Secretary of State, insurance companies often have their own point system and you may still be forced to pay a higher rate. If you receive a ticket, call Christy immediately and she will assist you in fighting the ticket if necessary. Although you may still have to pay a fee to the city, you will be saving on increased insurance rates. Christy can also help you if you find yourself charged with a criminal misdemeanor such as driving under the influence (DUI) or driving with a suspended license. Christy has the knowledge and expertise to help you contest the charges, or get a reduced charge. Miscellaneous matters that Christy handles: Divorces, without custody disputes; representation in lawsuits; assistance to those with judgments to obtain some assistance on those judgments; review of contracts for homeowners having work done at their house; and landlord tenant matters, among others. Remember, if you need assistance in an area of law that Christy does not practice, she would be happy to refer you to a knowledgeable and trusted attorney who can provide you with the help you need. All legal inquiries and referrals are welcomed and appreciated.

Beware: the latest ATM Scam. While this scam is happening in Florida, it could happen near you as well.

If you are at an ATM where you can't put your card in because it appears to be jammed, go to another location. We have noticed a scam lately where suspects have intentionally jammed ATM machines with quarters, metal or paper so that people cannot access them. Then the suspects -- posing as good Samaritans -- offer to help by showing them how to use the tap function instead of inserting your card. They take your card, tap it, switch it out with another stolen card and hand it back to you, while also memorizing your PIN. Then the suspects head out to other locations to use your card and steal your money. On Saturday, a quick response by our officers helped to nab two suspects red-handed at a bank at Sunset Point Road and Old Coachman Road. They were jailed on multiple charges; a third suspect is being sought. An alert victim called us once he realized he had been scammed and helped make the arrests possible. Remember -- be very suspicious of anyone hanging around an ATM machine and never hand your card to a stranger, no matter how good their intentions may seem.
