- A Last Will & Testament;

- Medical Powers of Attorney & Living Will; and

This time of year is a joyous time for most families but it is also a time that many find difficult. Some families are divided by distance, divorce or in this "unique" year, concerns about Covid19.

Let us all remember that this time of year should be a renewal of our collective understanding that PEACE and LOVE is the path our faith demands we travel. We will never get there without acts of kindness, compassion, forgiveness and understanding.

Greetings!

The court system has implemented many changes to how cases are handled during the Covid19 pandemic. Some counties allow personal appearances while others, including Sheboygan County, have suspended all personal appearances opting for telephonic or zoom conferencing.

Personally, I am a trial attorney so I much prefer in person court appearances as I believe it is nearly impossible for judges to discern the veracity of a witness over the telephone or video. Regardless, at Roth & Basler we will continue to zealously advocate for our clients no matter what court method is required.

A friend mentioned to me today that the Covid 19 crisis made him really reflect on the things in life that truly mattered and what would happen to his loved ones should something happen to him. We talked about the need for having a basic estate plan in place to address many of those concerns. What that really means is that people should have 3 basic legal documents prepared: a Last Will & Testament; a Medical Power of Attorney with Living Will; and a Durable Financial Power of Attorney.

As a service to our community at this time, I will prepare these documents for you and your family for a low flat fee. I would never want someone to not have these documents in place because of inability to pay for them. I believe very strongly that no one should be without the security and peace of mind that these documents provide.
