Thank you to Judge Ana C. Reyes for rebuking Pres. Trump's effort to ban Trans people from serving in the military! As she wrote in her 79 page opinion, the government had thrown together a ban based on next-to-no evidence and "the law does not demand that the Court rubber-stamp illogical judgments based on conjecture." And I love this, "The evidence presented was so thin that the Defense Department might have well cited the latest Beyonce album!"

Today, there is very sad news- a trans man, Sam Nordquist, was cruelly tortured and murdered by several people in New York. But that could happen anywhere. Mr. Trump speaks so cruelly about the GLBTQ+ community. If you can, please donate to GLBTQ+ organizations that help our community- the Trevor Project & Lambert House are two excellent organizations. Oh, that this torture and cruelty would end. Love is love.

Way to go, Liz Cheney! You changed your mind and support same s*x marriage. Your dad said it best when he said freedom to marry belongs to everyone. You didn't support gay marriage before, but you've seen the light and mended your ways. Thank you. Another light in the darkness.

THANK YOU, SWITZERLAND!! Switzerland voted to allow same s*x marriage- hooray! Whenever I thought of that beautiful country, my memory was marred by the woman we met there who thought being gay was a sin, a choice someone made. No matter how long we argued or tried to persuade her, she refused to consider anything we said, even when we told her God didn't hate gay people. So, for me, she made Switzerland less than perfect. I was so happy to read yesterday that the Swiss people voted to approve same s*x marriage!!! Justice, and LOVE, triumphs!!!

An important decision has just been handed down by our State Supreme Court regarding the rights of gay employees to marry, and whether an employer can deny that person employment because he/she/they are gay. Mr. Woods was a lawyer working for Union Gospel Mission. When he married his husband, UGM refused him employment, citing their stance as a Christian organization and claiming that even the lawyers act as ministers. The Supremes have sent the case back to the lower court to determine if indeed a lawyer working for UGM is a minister.

Thank you, Pope Francis, for saying gay people should have the right to love each other and create families. I hope it's the first step of many toward acceptance and love for the GLBTQ community by the Catholic church.

HOORAY! THE SUPREMES JUST RULED TODAY THAT THE CIVIL RIGHTS LAW PROTECTS GAY & TRANSGENDER WORKERS!!!! What a great way to celebrate PRIDE!!!

Without support, trans and gender diverse children are vulnerable to high risk behaviors, including su***de- a 57% risk rate, if they are without support. Supporting someone who is trans or questioning does not mean expecting an answer or demanding an identity. It just means to love that person- to accept, to support, to be their advocate. Thank you to Aidan Key, Gender Diversity founder, an organization that serves families of trans and gender diverse children. In loving and supporting each other, we are our best selves.

What wonderful news from Virginia! The State voted to ban conversion therapy for minors- the first southern state to do so. As the governor so aptly put it, "No one should be made to feel wrong for who they are--especially not a child." Twenty states ban conversion therapy; oh, we are hoping it will 50 very soon!

Today, Mayor Buttigieg announced he was leaving the race to be our next president. A young person, about to vote for the first time, was sad about that news, saying, " I'm LGBTQ, and I thought I was alone. When he ran for president, I knew I wasn't." Thank you, Mayor Pete, for bringing light to our dark world!
