Given that Seattle has had several years in a row of huge increases in the apartment supply, I find this news a little surprising. Not what I expected!

The Seattle area is filling up new apartments faster than any region in the country, suggesting demand for housing is starting to catch up with the record construction boom – not a great sign for tenants hoping landlords get desperate...

Get ready, Bellevue!

Amazon plans to relocate its entire Seattle-based worldwide operations team to Bellevue, Wash., by 2023. The migration adds weight to the theory that Amazon is shifting its focus to Bellevue and other cities across the country amid ongoing tensions between the tech giant and its longtime hometown.

Given the increase in buyer activity since the beginning of the year, it is not at all surprising that in February home prices increased in King County. Homes sold in February were primarily negotiated and placed under contract in January, so this report is the first one of the year to show what is happening in 2019 in terms of prices.

Despite the shift in the single-family home market, King County condo prices are falling at their fastest rate in seven years, as are single-family home prices in neighboring Snohomish County.

It is beginning to look as if Amazon's HQ2 (or at least half of it) may end up being in Bellevue.

The company's real estate plans in Bellevue would give it enough space for more than 25,000 employees.
