Women’s Equality Day honors the passage and ratification of the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote. At the same time, it reminds us that this right was not extended to Black, Indigenous, and other women of color until the passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

Our current rights and progress exist because generations of women made themselves inconvenient, refused to stay silent, and fought relentlessly to build a more equitable future.

That fight continues today. In one of the most consequential election years of our lifetime, women voters will decide the outcome–making it critical that we organize, inspire, and mobilize every woman to make their voices heard. 🗳️🩷

We're officially open in Port Townsend! Our open house on July 31 marked an exciting step forward in our mission to provide compassionate family law services around the Salish Sea.

The event was everything we hoped for — warm neighbors, great conversations, delicious noshes and a community that made us feel right at home. We're proud to bring family law services to Jefferson County, and so grateful to Judge Jaime Hawk and Judge Brandon Mack for joining us.

Judge Hawk's participation was a meaningful reminder of just how much is at stake for the future of our state's highest court. As she looks ahead to the November general election, this moment couldn't be more important. She is the only woman running for one of the open Washington Supreme Court seats — and without a win in November, our state could lose its female majority on the Court. That's a future worth caring about, and one we can help shape together.

Thank you to all who made this milestone possible. We look forward to serving Jefferson County for many years to come.

Memorial Day was born from the strength, compassion, and devotion of women who chose to honor the fallen and ensure they would never be forgotten. Did you know that after the Civil War, women-led groups like the Ladies’ Memorial Associations began the tradition of decorating the graves of fallen soldiers with flowers, wreaths, and crosses—laying the foundation for what we now honor as Memorial Day.

Today, we also recognize the courage and sacrifice of the women who have served in every chapter of our nation’s military history. From nurses and support roles to combat service, female service members have answered the call with strength, skill, and valor.

This Memorial Day as we honor our fallen service members, let us also take pause to honor the women who helped create this legacy of remembrance and the women who gave their lives in service to our country.
