The West Seattle Glass Float Hunt is on!

What is the Float Hunt? 100 handcrafted glass floats, created by local artisans at Avalon Glassworks, are hidden in shops and parks throughout West Seattle. The hunt invites residents and visitors alike to explore the area, discover hidden gems, and support local commerce.

This is the 4th year for the Float Hunt, organized by the West Seattle Junction Association and West Seattle Chamber of Commerce.

This year, the Carroll Law Group sponsored 3 floats hidden at parks in our neighborhood! Visit the Float Hunt website for details, clues, and more.

Last week we added a new artwork to our collection here at the office. It’s been a difficult year and a half processing the loss of RBG and trying to balance our gratitude for the work she did to secure equal rights for all, balanced against her choice not to retire during a period of time when her replacement would’ve been selected by an administration that also believed that you can’t just 'grab women by the p***y' regardless of your celebrity status or that your neighbors shouldn’t be able to profit off of turning you in for needing basic female medical care. In the end, what she showed us was that while these equal rights are very possible, until the loss of one vote on the Supreme Court can’t affect these rights then we don’t really have those rights, we never really had those rights, and we must all continue to fight to make sure we, our friends, our mothers, sisters, and our daughters all have those necessary rights. So, thank you RBG for lighting the way and showing us how to argue and fight. We will battle on.

Justice Mary Fairhurst had a powerful mind, a burning drive to make the world better, and a kind heart. She was my friend and mentor since I met her while she was in the middle of her first campaign for the Supreme Court and I was in my first year of law school. She hired me to be her first summer extern in Olympia when I was 8 months pregnant and made her chambers one of the warmest and most congenial places I've ever worked. She will be dearly missed by the state, the bar, and me and my family.

The Governor’s Stay Home Order, business closures and other strategies helped slow the spread of COVID-19. Unfortunately, the social isolation and stress resulting from these efforts, combined with less access to external supports, may be increasing the occurrence of family violence.
