Memorial Day holds special meaning for the team here at O’Malley & Langan, and especially for our Founder and Senior Attorney, Todd J. O’Malley, who was named after his uncle Todd Boland, a platoon leader in World War II. Pinned down by German troops, he charged them with a gr***de and saved his entire unit. Killed in action, he was honored with both a Purple Heart and the Distinguished Service Cross.

This Memorial Day, please join us in remembering all the brave souls who never came home and the families who carry that loss every day.

Congratulations to Cassandra Coleman on this terrific honor. Our community is lucky to have you!

National Nurses Month is the perfect time to honor these incredible individuals! Nurses are indispensable, too often overworked, and regularly risk their own health and safety while helping others. Please join us in recognizing their efforts and saluting their accomplishments.

At O’Malley & Langan, our experienced attorneys see far too many nurses who’ve been hurt at work. Even if you’re already receiving Workers' Compensation, other hurdles can still arise.

Are you or someone you know a healthcare professional injured on the job? Do you need help dealing with an insurance company, prescription issues, or mounting medical bills? We offer a free, confidential consultation and would be honored to be of assistance.

On April 28, 1971, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) was created to reduce high rates of workplace fatalities, injuries, and illnesses; enforce federal laws and standards and actively recommend new legislation to address workplace changes that could put Americans at risk.

Over time, OSHA expanded the definition of what constitutes a work injury and spearheaded efforts to protect workers' rights, including establishing whistleblower protections.

At O’Malley and Langan Law Offices, we work with many clients who were injured on the job, often in unsafe workplaces. Just because laws are on the books, it doesn’t mean every employer willingly abides by them. Plus, accidents do happen. To protect yourself and your coworkers, stay alert and be sure to report unsafe conditions to management.

If you receive Workers' Compensation benefits and have concerns that you're not getting all the benefits to which you are entitled, call us at 570-344-2667 and book a free consultation. Let's get your questions answered!

O’Malley & Langan Law Offices is pleased to recognize the important contributions of highway crews and road construction workers during National Work Zone Awareness Week. The theme of this year’s NWZAW is, “Safe actions save lives.” This annual event, held at the start of road repair season, encourages safe driving inside work zones.

PennDOT and the PA Turnpike have collaborated to offer a New Driver Work Zone Safety Program. The free, 35-minute virtual training program is available in English and Spanish.

If you know someone who's new to driving, feel free to share this link https://bit.ly/4sQPI5N

According to OSHA, the most common causes of workplace injuries are slips, trips, and falls. After you break in protective footwear, it gets more comfortable and feels like a reliable, old friend you wouldn’t want to give up. Unfortunately, over time, daily wear and tear can take a toll.

When was the last time you turned over your work boots and inspected the soles for cracks, separation, or worn treads? Do it now! If a repair or replacement is needed, handle it yourself or, if the boots are issued by your employer, report it immediately and request a resolution.

Stay safe out there!

At O'Malley & Langan Law Offices, we are proudly pro-union and have stood in many picket lines in support of workers’ rights. This Sunday, April 12th, is the anniversary of the 1858 founding of the first major union in America, the Iron City Forge of the Sons of Vulcan in Pittsburgh.

This was the beginning of workers being paid a decent wage and protected from unfair treatment. The Sons of Vulcan negotiated the first union contract in the country, an action that eventually led to the recognition that workers' rights matter - not just to steelworkers - but to all workers.
