REPOST: We temporarily removed our earlier post while we clarified the details with office management. Everything has now been verified.

About a year ago, I took money from my savings and made the decision to open Franceski Law. I can still remember sitting behind my desk, sometimes waiting days for the phone to ring with a new client.

A lot has changed since then.

I’ve had the pleasure of welcoming Attorney Alyssa Warhola to the firm, and in the short time she has been here, she has already made a tremendous impact. Next week, we are also welcoming a new phone receptionist to help us better serve our growing number of clients.

Now, with business continuing to grow, we are working with JBAS Realty in hopes of making an expansion into a larger, brighter office space in downtown Scranton a reality. The additional space would allow us to continue growing, bring another attorney into the office, and better serve the people who have placed their trust in us.

Nothing has been finalized yet, but the property owner and office management are supportive, and we are excited about what the future may hold. If everything works out, we may even have a pretty great view of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade—assuming we aren’t in court.

I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported Franceski Law over the past year. What started with an investment from my savings and a quiet telephone has grown into something I am extremely proud of—and we are only getting started.

On International Overdose Awareness Day, we remember the lives lost, recognize the grief carried by their families, and stand with those still fighting addiction.

Through our work, we see every day how substance-use disorder can affect not only a person’s health and family, but also lead to serious and lasting legal consequences. If you or someone you love is struggling, seek help now—before an overdose, an arrest, or another tragedy occurs.

Treatment can change the course of a life. Recovery is possible, and every life is worth saving.

One of the official mascots here at Franceski Law, Gunner Franceski, Esquire, is looking especially sharp after an amazing grooming by Juliana She Sheds Pet Grooming in Mayfield. 🐾⚖️

Attorney Gunner focuses his practice specifically on dog bite injuries — although his consultations generally require payment in treats.

Thank you, Juliana, for always taking such great care of him. He cleans up pretty well for a lawyer. 😂

One of the most rewarding parts of my work as a Conflicts Attorney for Lackawanna County has been helping people charged with serious drug felonies and other serious offenses get into treatment when treatment — not simply incarceration — gives them a real opportunity to turn their lives around.

Today was another example of that.

I represented an individual facing charges that would not have permitted placement in a state drug and alcohol treatment program within the state prison system. Despite the seriousness of the case, the Court was willing to consider furloughing this individual to a long-term treatment facility pending sentencing — giving that person one last meaningful opportunity to address the addiction that brought them into the criminal justice system in the first place.

I commend the Judges on the Lackawanna County bench for being willing to consider these options when the circumstances warrant it. In my experience practicing in multiple counties, that willingness is not something that should be taken for granted.

Make no mistake: Lackawanna County is a tough county. The District Attorney’s Office takes crime seriously, and the Courts do as well. You certainly do not want to find yourself charged with a crime here.

But accountability and rehabilitation do not have to be mutually exclusive.

When a case has merit for treatment, when someone is genuinely a candidate for it, and when that person is willing to put in the work, our Courts have demonstrated a willingness to consider meaningful alternatives that can actually change a person’s life.

Over the years, I have crossed paths with former clients whom I barely remember because of the sheer number of people I have represented. They remember me. Some have stopped me to say thank you for helping them avoid state prison, get sober, get their children back into their lives, find employment, or reconnect with their families.

Those are the moments that remind me why this work matters.

A modern criminal justice system has to do more than punish. It has to recognize when punishment is necessary, but it also has to recognize when rehabilitation can protect the community while giving someone a legitimate chance to become a productive member of it again.

I believe Lackawanna County deserves recognition for understanding that distinction. Our Courts can be strict while still recognizing that sometimes the best outcome for the individual, their family, and the community is not another jail cell — it’s giving someone the opportunity and the tools to finally get better.

It’s been a busy week at Franceski Law — and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

We are incredibly grateful for the new clients, referrals, and continued support our firm receives throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania.

And one thing has become especially clear: our Family Law practice is growing — fast.

Since Attorney Alyssa Warhola joined Franceski Law, she has hit the ground running. The response has been tremendous, with more clients turning to our firm for representation in custody, divorce, support, PFA, and other family law matters.

We knew expanding our Family Law practice was an important part of growing Franceski Law. Seeing it take off like this has only reinforced that decision.

But Family Law is just one part of what we do.

From Criminal Defense and Family Law to Civil Litigation, Franceski Law provides experienced legal representation throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania. When the stakes are high, our clients deserve attorneys who are accessible, prepared, and ready to advocate for them.

To our clients, colleagues, friends, and everyone who continues to recommend and support Franceski Law — thank you.

We’re proud of what we’re building.

And we’re just getting started.
