In 1995, a 28 year old man bought a small apartment building that most people didn’t want.

It wasn’t glamorous. The building needed work. The numbers were tight. Friends told him it sounded risky.

Transfer Tax Increase (Effective November 1, 2025):

- Portion exceeding $1,000,000: $6.00 per $500 of value.
- The tax is divided equally between buyer and seller, unless exempt under Title 36, §4641-C.
- Any applicable exemption must be clearly stated on the Declaration of Value Form submitted with the deed.
