Following the devastating flood of Athens, Pennsylvania caused by Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee in 2011 the law firm relocated to its new location at 2268 Elmira Street, Sayre, Pennsylvania 18840 (Across from Lowe’s). began practicing in Athens in 1975 operating a General Law practice. uquesne University School of Law in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In 2007 Attorney Jonathan Foster Jr., the youngest of his four sons, returned to his hometown to join his father’s law practice. Jonathan Foster Jr. is a National Honor Society class of 2000 graduate from the Athens Area High School. He then attended the Pennsylvania State University in State College obtaining a Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Industrial Engineering. Following Penn State Attorney Foster Jr. graduated from the Duquesne University School of Law. While at the Duquesne University School of Law Attorney Foster Jr. made numerous achievements including having his named engraved on the Wall of Fame located inside the law school for his team being selected to the National Finals in the American Bar Association Arbitration Competition. Foster Jr. is both West Law and Lexis Nexis Certified for his proficiency in online legal research. has been active in the municipal law field having served as the Athens Borough Solicitor since 1975, Sayre Borough as Solicitor for the Zoning Hearing Board and the Borough Council since 1976 and South Waverly Borough since 1980. He has been the Bradford County Solicitor since 1985 and in 2002 received statewide honors when he was named the Pennsylvania County Commissioner Association’s Solicitor of the Year “For the Advancement of County Government Through Outstanding Service, Advocacy and Legal Proficiency.” Foster Sr. has served and continues to serve as Solicitor for numerous Boroughs, Townships, Zoning Hearing Boards, Planning Commissions, Sewer Projects and Municipal Authorities in Bradford and Wyoming Counties. He has been involved as the author or a consultant in nine of the thirteen Zoning Ordinances currently in place in Bradford County. In addition to his evening municipal practice Attorney Foster Sr. has successfully represented Social Claimant’s for over thirty years at the hearing level as well as in Pennsylvania and New York Federal Courts. is a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimant’s Representatives. has been a longtime advocate for the injured and also represents Worker’s Compensation claimants. has been active in the Bradford County Bar Association. As the former President of the Bradford County Bar Association he received statewide recognition from the Pennsylvania Bar Association in 2007 “for outstanding leadership as President of the Bradford County Bar Association, exemplary service to its members and the legal profession, and lasting contributions to the betterment of the justice system of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.”
Attorney Jonathan Foster Jr. is a member of the Bradford County Natural Gas Exploration Advisory Committee, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association and Athens Rotary. Following in his father’s footsteps Foster Jr. is an active member of the Bradford County Bar Association Executive Committee as well as serves as the Treasurer. Attorney Foster Jr. is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and in Federal Court including the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Attorney Jonathan Foster Jr. concentrates his practice in the areas of Estate Administration, Wills and Trusts, Estate Planning, Elder Law, Oil and Gas Law, Family Law, Civil Litigation and Criminal Law/DUI. since joining his father’s law practice at the beginning of the Marcellus Shale Boom in Bradford County has attended every Oil and Gas Law seminar sponsored by the Pennsylvania Bar Association. As an engineer and property owner in the County he is familiar with the gas drilling process and the issues landowner’s face in dealing with the gas industry. Foster offers guidance and advice in dealing with gas leases, pipeline agreement and estate planning strategies for future gas royalties.
