Child custody cases involving a parent with uncertain immigration status are among the most emotionally and legally complex matters in family courts. Fear of enforcement actions, questions about international custody jurisdiction, and the possibility of a parent being unable to remain in the country all affect custody determinations. Judges consider many factors — including stability and continuity for the child — and you need an attorney who can present your case compellingly and protect your parental rights.

If you are going through a divorce and your spouse is sponsoring your visa or green card, the stakes couldn't be higher. A divorce can interrupt — or jeopardize — an active immigration petition. Under current law, you may have independent pathways to legal status, including protections available to abuse survivors and other exceptions. The earlier you speak with an attorney, the better positioned you are to address your specific immigration concerns. Our team handles both the family law and immigration dimensions of these cases together.

Happy Earth Day!

Just as we work to protect the planet for future generations, family law is rooted in the same principle — safeguarding the well-being of children and families for years to come.

When families navigate custody arrangements, consider building in flexibility for outdoor activities, nature time, and shared experiences that connect your kids to the world around them. A stable, nurturing environment at home is the foundation for raising the next generation of earth stewards. 🌱

This Earth Day, remember: the healthiest environments — both at home and in nature — are ones built on care, cooperation, and a commitment to the future.

Have questions about custody, co-parenting, or protecting your family's future? We're here to help.

Undue influence is one of the most common — and hardest to prove — grounds for contesting a will in Georgia. It occurs when a trusted person pressures or manipulates someone into changing their estate documents, often near the end of life. Signs include sudden changes to a will, isolation of the deceased, or a new beneficiary no one saw coming. If you believe a family member's wishes were compromised, our probate litigation attorneys can help you investigate and take action.

When a loved one passes and the estate doesn't go the way you expected, grief and legal confusion can arrive at the same time. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗲 — disputes over a will's validity, an executor's conduct, or a beneficiary's rights — is more common than most families expect. In Georgia, you often have a limited window to act. If something feels wrong about the way an estate is being handled, speaking with an attorney early can protect your rights and your inheritance.
