🍂 Could fall be one of the most overlooked times to buy a home?
Many buyers assume spring and summer are the best seasons to make a move, but fall can quietly bring some advantages of its own, especially if you’ve spent the past several months waiting for the market to feel a little more approachable.
Historically, inventory tends to build as we move into fall, giving buyers more homes to consider and potentially fewer compromises to make. At the same time, asking prices often begin their seasonal decline, and sellers who are still on the market may become more motivated to negotiate before the holidays arrive.
That combination can shift the experience for buyers: more options, less competition and potentially more room to negotiate on price, closing costs, repairs, or other terms that matter to you.
And here in Savannah, fall is a particularly good time to take another look at what’s available. Whether you’re searching for a historic home downtown, a place on the islands, waterfront living, new construction, an investment property, or simply a home that better fits your next chapter, you may find opportunities that weren’t available—or weren’t as negotiable—earlier in the year.
Of course, that doesn’t mean every home is suddenly a bargain, and it doesn’t mean you should rush into a purchase just because the seasons are changing. Real estate is incredibly local, and the right timing depends on the property, the neighborhood, your finances, and your long-term goals. But if you put your home search on pause this spring or summer, fall may be a good reason to start looking again.
