Associate Attorney and Paralegal
ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY
*Overview*
We are seeking a dedicated and detailed-oriented Associate Attorney with 3+ years of experience to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in a personal injury Plaintiff’s or Defense practice and be able to work independently assessing and preparing cases for trial.
Duties
• Conduct comprehensive legal research.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and contracts.
• Assist in the litigation process by preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and client representation.
• Maintain organized case files in the case management system and ensure all documentation is up-to-date and deadlines are timely met.
• Communicate effectively with clients to provide updates on case progress and gather necessary information.
• Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations relevant to practice areas.
Requirements
• Admission to the state bar of Georgia or South Carolina is required.
• 3 plus years of experience in personal injury is required
• Strong research skills with proficiency in Lexis-Nexis.
• Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skill required.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple cases simultaneously.
Salary is negotiable based on experience and/or existing book of business. Our firm has a full complement of employment benefits including 401k, profit sharing, health, vision and dental insurance. We also provide short term and long-term disability coverage.
PARALEGAL
We are seeking a detail-oriented and client-focused Paralegal to serve as the first point of contact for prospective clients. This role is critical in evaluating new case opportunities, gathering essential information, and ensuring a smooth transition from initial inquiry to case onboarding and the treatment phases of personal injury matter. The ideal candidate combines strong interpersonal skills with legal knowledge and the ability to assess potential personal injury claims effectively. It will require the ability to work with closely and responsively with firm vendors and third-parties
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary contact for all incoming client inquiries (phone, email, web, and in-person)
• Conduct initial client screenings to evaluate potential personal injury claims, including liability, damages, and statute of limitations
• Gather and document detailed case information with accuracy and professionalism
• Assess case visibility based on firm criteria and escalate qualified leads for attorneys
• Clearly and compassionately communicate with prospective clients, often in sensitive or urgent situations
• Request and organize preliminary documentation (police reports, medical records, insurance information, etc.)
• Maintain accurate records in case management systems
• Coordinate consultations and follow-ups with attorneys
• Assist with onboarding new clients, including retainer agreements and initial case setup
• Provide general paralegal support as needed, including drafting correspondence and maintaining files
• request, organize and summarize medical records and bills
• organize medical examinations
• liaise with and interview experts, medical personnel, law enforcement officers
• communicate with insurance carrier and opposing counsel
• review damage information and calculate damages
• create and maintain damage summaries
• prepare and compile discovery responses
Qualifications
• Prior experience 3-5 years in personal injury law required
• Experience in legal intake, client screening, or case evaluation highly desirable
• Strong understanding of personal injury claims, including negligence, damages, and insurance processes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle high call volumes and manage multiple tasks efficiently
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Proficiency with case management software and standard office tools
• Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents
• Experience in litigation and legal case management
• Ability to conduct thorough research and maintain organizational skills
• Familiarity with document transcription and proofreading techniques
