The Saratoga County Bar Association, which presently has about 300 members, was founded in 1911. The Association was formed to cultivate the art of jurisprudence, to promote advancement in the law, to facilitate the administration of justice, to promote the highest standards of integrity, honor and courtesy in the legal profession, and to encourage a spirit of fellowship among its members. The fel

lowship among our membership and desire to serve our community are the hallmarks of our Association. Many of our members are active in our communities as public servants, or volunteers in many different capacities. The Association devotes considerable time and effort to service of our community sponsoring a moot court competition for high school students, providing pro bono legal services to eligible Saratoga County residents, a fee dispute resolution program and annual law week programs and forums and providing scholarships to law students. As our beautiful and vibrant county continues to grow the Association seeks new ways to serve by continuing to increase our presence and assistance to the people of Saratoga County.

LIBERTY BELL AWARD - CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

The Saratoga County Bar Association annual Law Day Luncheon is going to take place on May 1, 2026 at the Canfield Casino. As part of the annual commemoration of Law Day, it is also the tradition of the Saratoga County Bar Association to formally recognize the exemplar efforts of those within our community with the awarding of the Liberty Bell Award.

The Liberty Bell Award was established more than 40 years ago to acknowledge outstanding community service. Many groups present it to someone who has promoted better understanding of the rule of law, encouraged greater respect for law and the courts, stimulated a sense of civic responsibility, or contributed to good government in the community. It is often presented to an individual (including a local lawyer or judge) or to an entire community organization.

The Saratoga County Bar Association seeks nominations of well-deserved individuals and organizations for consideration of the 2026 SCBA Liberty Bell Award. If you have such a potential individual, organization or group that you would like considered for recognition of this award, please forward the (1) name and (2) specific details meriting consideration for the award to Patricia Clute, Executive Coordinator, at [email protected].

Please submit your nominations on or before March 9, 2026. Nominations shall be considered and presented to the SCBA Board of Directors for vote and approval, and the award recipient(s) invited to join at the 2026 SCBA Law Day Luncheon on May 1, 2026 and be appropriately recognized.
