Some of you may have seen the video I previously posted of Mr. von Holdt, "Trustee" of Tri-Par Park and Recreation District, who demanded that my mother lift her shirt so he could take a picture of her bathing suit, otherwise he was going to suspend her from the use of the facilities for one year. Tri-Par did suspend her but it was not for one year but instead more along the lines of three years. What concerned me the most was what took place when she walked out of the gate.

After extensive litigation, the Second District Court of Appeal ruled in our favor, affirming what i have been telling Tri-Par since 2012, that special taxing districts like Tri-Par do not have the legislative authority to enforce rules and regulations and Article 1, Section 18, Florida Constitution prevents Tri-Par from imposing a sentence of imprisonment or any other penalty except as provided by law. We made case law here in the State of Florida and I am very proud of my mom for standing her ground throughout the many years that the Board of Trustees "targeted" (the words of the former Chairman, J.J.Sosnowski) her. She is the strongest person I know!!
Go Mom!! ❤️

DID YOU KNOW?

50% of American children will experience divorce, according to recent statistics. Florida law makers are now pushing for a new law that would give parents 50/50 custody automatically. It’s a controversial bill that will pass in a matter of time according to many Florida politicians.

Under the current law, a judge considers what’s in the best interests of the child. Traditionally, this has resulted in the child spending more time his or her mother.

Under the new legislation, judges will automatically rule a child spend his or her time equally between both parents, which is more of a blanket ruling.

D.F. vs. Dept of Revenue provides, "A paternity action is not filed to determine the identity of a child's biological father; it is filed to establish a legal father, a person who will be legally responsible to support the child to some extent."

An agreement to waive child support is not enforceable in Florida. The court is required to consider the best interests of children, and when necessary the court is empowered to disregard such agreements and require payment of guidelines child support.

DID YOU KNOW?

The IRS gives the dependent deduction tax credit to the custodial parent (the parent with whom the child lives with most during the tax year).

If your shared custody arrangement actually is an exact 50/50 split of parenting time, the IRS gives the deduction to the parent with the highest adjusted gross income.
