A Florida DUI arrest can create two separate problems: the criminal court case and an administrative suspension of the driver's license. The license side may require action within only 10 days—well before a first court date.

Our new guide explains:

- why the criminal case and license case are different;
- the difference between formal and informal review;
- when a restricted-license option may be available; and
- what Sarasota and Manatee drivers should verify immediately after an arrest.

A Florida DUI arrest can start two separate timelines: the criminal court case and an FLHSMV driver’s-license suspension.

The license side may require action within 10 days of the notice. Waiting for the first court date can mean missing the deadline to choose an administrative-review path.

Our new article explains the two tracks, formal and informal review, restricted-license considerations, and immediate steps for Sarasota and Manatee drivers:
