First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

—Martin Niemöller, written after the end of WW2

The relocation to our new office space at 315 East Cotati, Suite A, in Cotati, continues. Hands down, this has been the most difficult move I have ever undertaken, and that includes when I moved cross country from Illinois to attend law school in San Francisco!

To say I am over moving is an understatement, but its almost done. I appreciate everyone's patience. We are lucky to have such excellent and admirable clients. I know i speak for the whole YLG team when I say that we cannot wait to greet you in our new space in the near future.

Long live the Separation of Powers! This is the 3rd branch of government telling the 2nd branch that it must seek approval from the 1st branch.

Trump called the Justices who tild him, No, that they are disgraceful and unpatriotic. It is hard to imagine a more patriotic decision than one which reaffirms that the President is not a monarch with absolute power. Whats disgraceful is the obvious inability Trump has to acknowledge that his power is not absolute.

Its about time SCOTUS did their job!

This is unfortunate. After two years of drawing thousands of spectators, why the lack of resources? Events are difficult to pull off, especially at this scale.

Santa Rosa's 2026 Rose Parade canceled amid organizational turnover

The group behind the event announced it would not move forward in 2026 as its board chair steps away and the organization assesses how to keep the parade going.

Young Law Group is a Progressive litigation firm. We support today's "Free America Walkout." You can read more about the event as well as find events near you and all over the country at the link provided.

I have instructed my staff that at 2 pm local time, the firm will cease all operations for one hour to voice protest and objections to the Trump Administration's lawless infiltration of America's cities, which has caused untold hardships, stoked fear, torn families apart, and resulted in the killing of Renee Good in broad daylight in Minneapolis.

After Good was fatally shot in the face by an ICE officer, Trump, Vance, and the remaining cavalcade of cruel clowns did not even bother pretending they regretted the murder. Instead, they have consistently lied about the events of that day, and even more despicable, they continue to blame Good for causing her own murder.

We live in dangerous times. We will find no comfort in courtesy; no deliverance in decorum. The time has come for all Americans to renew their belief in the core values of the "American Way": liberty, freedom, equality, and fairness. The time has come for Americans to say, "We've had enough of Trump's tyranny!" The time has come to be advocates for the Nation we want to live in, not the twisted, self-serving dystopian reality of a lunatic.

The time has come to renew our sense of decency, compassion, and charity. What kind of country do you want to live in?

On Jan 20, 2026 we will walk out because a Free America is the only America worth calling great.

From all of us at Young Law Group:

Although apocryphal, the phrase, "May you live in interesting times," somehow seems an appropriate epithet for 2025.

2025 saw many changes for our firm, most notably our new location at 315 East Cotati Avenue, Suite A, Cotati, California 94931. We look forward to welcoming all our clients, prospective new clients, friends, and loved ones to the new space in 2026.

You will also see some new faces or hear some new voices in the New Year as we welcome new team members to join us.

Until then, we wish everyone much health, stability, peace, and good fortune in the New Year.

ON THIS DAY, 12/6/1865

The required number of U.S. states (3/4ths) ratified the 13th Amendment, abolishing slavery & almost all forms of involuntary servitude. All that remained after ratification was involuntary servitude imposed as a punishment for criminal convicts. This form of involuntary servitude came to be referred to as "chain gangs."

The use of chain gangs was largely phased out in the U.S. by the mid-1950s, but the practice experienced pockets of resurgence in mid-1990s and into the 2000s. However, the practice has fallen out of favor in the vast majority of jurisdictions.

The 13th Amendment represents one of the most significant Amerndments to the U.S. Constitution in terms of expanding personal freedom and liberty.

Heartsick to learn of the passing of . The iconic naturalist, preservationist, and champion for chimpanzees and all animals died today at the age of 91.

The trail she blazed for animal rights burns less brightly tonight at a time when the animals need us all to step up and do something to help them. I hope her light can inspire a new generation of activists to step up for the betterment of our world. RIP

Can you believe how deep into 2025 we are? Personally, I am glad. My favorite season in is autumn. To me, this is the time of year when this region is at its most beautiful. Warm, sunny days, with cool evenings and mornings, usually with a breeze. Tthe grape leaves turn wonderful shades and hues of yellow, orange, and red as they go up and over the rolling hills around us. What we lack in colorful leaves on trees, the vineyards supply. It is during autumn that still feels like "the country," which is why I moved here in the first place.

In recognition of what many consider the start of autumn, September is . How lucky are we in to have such wonderful shops featuring local goods and wares? One shop, particularly appropriate for National Honey Month, is Beekind in Sebastopol. I had occasion to pop in there the other day and was able to find many wonderful items to celebrate my niece's first home purchase back east. Not only was the staff helpful and knowledgeable, but the shop has a great selection of some really diverse honey, not all of which is as sweet as you might think. Check out their website for resources and information about keeping bees, too! It is at https://beekind.com/ Attend the lecture on Beekeeping 101. I did, and it was well worth the time.

As we head into late autumn and finally our winter months, however, the roads will get wet and slippery. This means more accidents. Take good care of yourselves this season and all year. If you do get hurt by someone else acting like an idiot, give us a call.

Happy Autumn!

📸 You just slipped, tripped, and fell—now what? 🛑
If you're injured and thinking about making a claim for compensation -

EVIDENCE IS EVERYTHING!

Right after the incident, gather:

✅ Photos of the condition you believed caused you to fall (wet floor, uneven surface, poor lighting)
✅ Photos of the scene (not all close ups)
✅ Witness names and contact info (incl 📧 address, and if employed at the place you fell, also get their job titles)
✅ Your clothing and shoes (don’t wear them or toss them!)

Two additional pieces of evidence frequently come up in cases where someone falls on someone else's property:

📃Incident reports
📽️Video footage

📃Incident reports: Not required by law. If owner prepares one, ask for a copy. Not required to provide you with copy. Ask them if they prepare incident reports after every fall. Take notes. Get name, job title, contact info (incl 📧 address) of person you talk with.

📽️ Always check for video cameras. Ask for a copy of the footage, or to see the footage, but the owner may refuse. Don't argue. Ask them to keep a copy of the video footage. Take notes. Get name, job title, contact info (incl 📧 address) of person you talk with.

If you fell outside a business or someone else's residence, check surrounding structures for more 📽️. Check with the owners to see if these cameras caught your fall and if they will let you have copy.

🏥Get immediate medical treatment. DO NOT DELAY! Get copies of your medical records, bills, and radiology images.

🧠 Pro tip: The more you document, the stronger your case. Don’t wait—time can erase crucial details. Memories fade.
