Educational Background:
Marie obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Politics graduating 5th in her class with Phi Beta Kappa, Summa Cum Laude Honors from the Catholic University of America, Washington DC in 1986. She received her JD, graduating in the top 1/3 of her class from the University of Florida in 1989. While at t
he University of Florida, Marie earned an Appellate Advocacy Fellowship and worked for two different personal injury law firms. Professional Experience:
Marie became a member of the Florida State Bar in 1989. While living in Florida, Marie worked as a litigation associate for a major insurance defense firm, defending business establishments such as Winn Dixie, Walmart, Rite Aid, and insureds of major insurance companies such as Progressive and State Farm. Marie then became a partner at the law firm of Maiolo Campbell & Wotton where she handled all firm litigation specializing in personal injury matters such as auto accidents, premises and products liability with an emphasis on assisting members of the Hispanic Community. Marie moved to California and became a member of the California State Bar in 1996. After briefly working as an insurance defense litigation associate, Marie founded the firm of Harris & Muchow where she served as the Managing Partner representing injured victims and litigating a variety of personal injury matters: first and third party auto accident claims, wrongful death matters, premises and products liability claims involving serious and grave injuries and other complex multiparty personal injury litigation. Marie is currently the sole proprietor of the Law Offices of Marie Maiolo Muchow and continues to offer her expertise in the area of personal injury and insurance litigation. Marie also offers mediation services with an emphasis on personal injury claims requiring the need for a bilingual neutral. Marie has volunteered as a mediator for the Sonoma County Superior Court Mediation Program and currently volunteers for the Sonoma County Superior Court as a Settlement Conference Judge Pro Tem and as a Small Claims Judge Pro Tem. Since 2013, Marie has served as an Adjunct Professor sharing her expertise with aspiring paralegals, teaching Civil Procedure: Discovery within the Paralegal Studies Program at Santa Rosa Junior College. Marie has served as the Vice President and President of the Sonoma County Consumer Attorneys Association, as a Director on the Board for the Sonoma County Bar Association, and as Vice President of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Marie is currently a member of the Consumer Attorneys of California, American Trial Lawyers Association, Sonoma County Bar Association, the California State Bar and the Florida State Bar.
