In early September, I returned as a veteran speaker to the annual Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles ( ) Convention in Las Vegas. I presented a session titled "Evidence at Trial - Know the Code" to a standing-room-only crowd of over 125 attendees. I received a certificate of appreciation for the presentation and positive feedback from the audience. Retired Judge Jackie Conner commented, saying, "Eric, your advice, cautions, tips, and comments were truly outstanding. Thank you!" Furthermore, CAALA Educational Program spokesperson David Hoffman, Esq., wrote saying, "I mean it when I say how lucky CAALA is to have your support."

Drive down almost any freeway in California, and you’ll see it: a billboard the size of a building, a lawyer’s face twenty feet tall, and a number so large it stops being a number and starts being a slogan. BILLIONS RECOVERED. NUMBER ONE IN CALIFORNIA. WE’VE WON MORE THAN ANY OTHER FIRM. These ads are everywhere because they work. They also, in a lot of cases, mislead the very public they claim to serve — and they quietly poison the jury pool that personal injury lawyers depend on to do their jobs. The Orange County Trial Lawyers Association ( ) held its Past Presidents' Dinner to celebrate those who have shaped the organization and its vibrant legacy. At Muldoon’s Irish Pub in , the atmosphere was filled with the luck of the Irish, laughter, and time spent reconnecting with old friends. As OCTLA celebrated the leaders who have carved the path for future trial lawyers, the event reminded everyone of OCTLA’s lasting influence on the legal profession. The night captured the spirit of camaraderie and influence within the legal community.
