At LawyerUp, we’re often asked, “How long do I have to file a personal injury claim in Utah?”

Many people are surprised to learn that, for most cases, you have four years from the accident. (Wrongful death claims generally have a two-year deadline, medical malpractice claims generally have a two-year deadline from when the injury was or should have been discovered, and claims involving a government entity or employee generally require a formal Notice of Claim within one year.)
