If you have a family member that is developmentally disabled, you want to ensure they will be protected and cared for over their lifetime. In order to have the legal rights to make decisions about the care and education of such an individual once he or she turns 18, it is necessary to establish a conservatorship. A conservatorship is a court case where a judge appoints a responsible person (called the “conservator”) to care for another adult (called the “conservatee”) who cannot provide for his/her personal and/or financial needs. Alexis understands the challenges and concerns of a family with a developmentally disabled member. She is known for her honesty, empathy and dedication to her clients. Alexis has two goals: (1) to ensure the proposed conservatee will have the legal protections necessary to live safely and healthily throughout his or her lifetime and (2) to provide the client with a stress-free, positive experience. Alexis handles limited conservatorship proceedings in county courts throughout the Bay Area and beyond.
