This MLK Day, let's take a moment to reflect on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s extraordinary life and the milestones of his legacy:
🟣 1944 — At just 15 years old, King enrolled at Morehouse College, graduating with a degree in sociology.
🟡 1955 — King earned his Ph.D. in Systematic Theology from Boston University, solidifying his role as a spiritual and intellectual leader.
🟣 1963 — King delivered a famous speech (later known as the "I Have a Dream" speech) at the Lincoln Memorial, calling for justice and equality.
🟡 2004 — Both King and Coretta Scott King were posthumously awarded the Congressional Gold Medal for their relentless efforts in advancing civil rights.
🟣 2011 — King became the first non-president to be honored with a memorial on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., a proposal first made in 1968.
Let's continue to honor King’s activism and lifelong commitment to civil rights today and every day.
Please note that we are closed in observance of MLK Day. We'll resume regular business hours on Tuesday, January 21.
