After President Joe Biden dropped out of the 2024 election race on Sunday, he endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to succeed him.
As Harris steps into the spotlight as the Democratic Party’s leading presidential candidate who might soon go toe-to-toe against Donald Trump, let’s take a look at the many places she’s called home along the way:
• U.S. Naval Observatory Residence: Harris and her husband, Douglas Emhoff, live rent-free at 1 Observatory Circle, located about 3 miles from the White House.
• Blair House: During renovations at the Naval Observatory, Harris and Emhoff lived in Blair House, the president's guesthouse at 1651 Pennsylvania Ave. This residence features 14 bedrooms, 35 bathrooms, three dining rooms, a gym, and a beauty salon.
• San Francisco Loft: Harris purchased a 1,069-square-foot loft in San Francisco's South of Market neighborhood for $489,000 in 2004, selling it in 2021 for $799,000—a 63% profit.
• Washington, DC Condo: Harris and Emhoff bought a 1,700-square-foot condo in The Westlight building for $1,775,000 in 2017 and sold it in 2021 for $1,850,000, making a 4.2% profit.
• Brentwood, CA House: The couple owns a 3,505-square-foot house in Brentwood, CA, purchased by Emhoff in 2012 for $2.7 million. It features four bedrooms, five bathrooms, and a pool, and is currently valued at $5,376,700.
