The border czar is upset people know their rights and that ICE have had fewer arrests and deportations than their goal. Continue sharing Know Your Rights materials. Keep exercising your rights, like the right to remain silent, regardless of whether you have legal status or not. If everyone exercises their rights the government will continue to have to respect EVERYONE’s constitutional rights regardless of immigration status.

El zar de la frontera está enojado porque dice que ICE no ha podido arrestar y deportar a los números que tienen de meta porque es difícil ya que la gente conoce sus derechos. Sigan pasando la voz y ejerciendo sus derechos si todos se niegan cooperar y ejercen el derecho de guardar silencio por ejemplo sin importar su estatus migratorio el gobierno tendra que seguir respetando los derechos de todos sin importar el estatus legal.

$26.9 Billion is ICE's estimate of what it would need to enforce the new proposed immigration deportation bill Laken Riley Act.

The current budget for The ENTIRE Department of Homeland Security (ICE, USCIS, CBP, TSA, CISA, TSA precheck, etc) is $31 billion.

Unless they plan on raising taxes, that money is going to come out of somewhere else in the budget... Department of Health and Human Services (with a bird flu out there)? Social Security? Veteran's Affairs?

Effectively doubling the Department of Homeland Security's budget would provide it more taxpayer money than the Department of Justice, Department of Education, Department of State, Environmental Protection Agency, and NASA.

Unfortunately, there is bad news coming out of USCIS this week too. Layoffs at various USCIS offices around the country will affect case processing times. Processing times haven't recovered since the one two punch of the Trump Administration intentional slow downs and the pandemic created huge backlogs. Vermont and Nebraska exclusively process U visa (humanitarian) cases which currently have several years backlog.

Desafortunadamente, malas noticias saliendo de las oficinas de inmigración. Varios despedidos protestan fuera de las oficinas de inmigración en varios locales en el país. This week marks the 12 year anniversary of DACA. Today the Biden Administration announced a new Parole in Place program which allows the administration to use the same parole power on a discretionary case by case basis to allow for a procedure that does not require the spouses of US Citizens to leave the United States for 10 years. The spouses of the US Citizens need to be otherwise eligible for a green card in order to benefit for the program. This program will allow a less onerous procedure for these families. It is NOT a new law, it does not change existing requirements in the law affecting eligibility for lawful permanent resident status (green card).

Esta semana marca el duodecimo aniversario del inicio del programa de DACA. La administración Biden hoy anuncio un nuevo programa de acción diferida que permite utilizar el poder de acción diferida para que la administración revise caso por caso para que los cónyuges de ciudadanos americanos estadounidenses no tengan que salir del país por 10 años de castigo. Estos cónyuges necesitan ser elegible para la residencia para fin de beneficiarse de este programa. Este programa permitirá un proceso menos oneroso para estas familias. Esto NO es nueva ley, ni cambia los requisitos bajo la ley que afectan la elegibilidad para la residencia permanente (tarjeta verde/mica).
