🇺🇸 Happy 250th Birthday, America!

As we celebrate America’s 250th birthday, our office reflects with gratitude on the opportunities this country has made possible.

Twenty-seven years ago, I arrived in the United States as a refugee after fleeing the war in Kosovo. Today, I am honored to serve our community through the Law Offices of Hatixhe B. Grbeshi, APC, representing individuals seeking Social Security Disability benefits.

My journey would not have been possible without the kindness of my brother Dino, who sponsored our family, and the many individuals and organizations who believed in our future and helped us build a new life in America.

Our office is proud to serve with the same values that shaped my own journey—compassion, dignity, respect, and service.

Wishing everyone a joyful, safe, and meaningful Independence Day.

This morning, I was in three places at once—San Jose, California; Boston, Massachusetts; and Kosovo. From my office in San Jose, I represented a client residing in Kosovo in a Social Security hearing before a judge in Boston. As she courageously battles cancer, I was grateful to advocate for her through the technology that thankfully SSA makes these hearings possible.

As a former refugee from Kosovo, today was especially meaningful. Years ago, the United States gave me the opportunity to rebuild my life, become an attorney, and serve others. Today, I was able to represent someone from the country where I was born—all from my office in California.

On the eve of America’s 250th anniversary, I am especially grateful for the opportunities this country has given me and so many others. May the United States continue to be a place where people can build a better future, contribute to their communities, and help others with dignity and compassion. 🇺🇸🙏

This Memorial Day, we honor and remember the brave service members who gave their lives in service to our country and the freedoms we enjoy today. 🇺🇸

As a Social Security disability law office serving many veterans and individuals living with trauma-related conditions, we deeply appreciate the sacrifices made not only by those who served, but also by their families and loved ones.

With gratitude and respect, we remember the fallen today and always.

Today I had the privilege of presenting to the East Side Union High School District (ESUHSD) Adult Transition Program – North Team and speaking with dedicated staff who support students with disabilities and their families as they transition into adulthood, college, work, and independent living.

This conversation was especially meaningful to me — not only as a Social Security disability attorney, but also as a parent and former mental health rehabilitation counselor who once worked in school settings, including elementary and high schools.

One of my biggest goals is to help young individuals and families make informed decisions without fear. Many students with disabilities may still be able to explore work, education, and meaningful opportunities while maintaining important SSI and/or SSDI benefits through available Social Security work incentive programs.

I strongly believe that disability should never automatically mean giving up on dreams, education, purpose, or contribution to society. Every individual deserves the opportunity to reach their fullest potential in the way that works best for them.

I truly appreciated the engagement and dedication of the staff and the work they do every day for students and families. Thank you for the opportunity to present and to be part of these important conversations. 💙

On this Mother’s Day, I want to recognize and honor all mothers and caregivers, especially those caring for children with disabilities and families facing difficult challenges.

Through my work as a Social Security disability attorney, I have witnessed the extraordinary strength, sacrifice, patience, and unconditional love that so many mothers give every single day, often while putting themselves last.

Today is a reminder that your efforts matter, your sacrifices are seen, and your love makes a lasting impact on families and communities.

Wishing all mothers and caregivers a peaceful and meaningful Mother’s Day. 💐

I am honored and grateful to have received the Alumna of the Year Award from Lincoln Law School of San Jose during the 2026 graduation ceremony.

Lincoln Law School gave me the opportunity to pursue legal education while balancing work, family responsibilities, and life challenges. As a former refugee and evening student, that opportunity helped me continue a legal career path that was interrupted by war and ultimately serve disabled and vulnerable communities through my law practice and public service.

It was also a privilege to celebrate alongside the graduates of the Class of 2026, faculty, judges, alumni, and community leaders.

Congratulations and best wishes to the Lincoln Law School of San Jose Class of 2026 on this important achievement.

Thank you to the San Fernando Valley Bar Association (California) for the opportunity to present today’s online MCLE program on navigating Social Security disability benefits.

I appreciated the opportunity to connect with fellow attorneys and discuss SSDI/SSI benefits, work rules, and related issues impacting clients and communities.

I’m also grateful that today’s technology allows us to educate, collaborate, and engage across different regions through online platforms, as I did today from my office.
