Congratulations to the graduating class of the Latinx Law Students Association at Santa Clara Law School! This graduation was truly special as it celebrated our cultura. Thank you for inviting us (in particular, Valeria and Maria Elena) to serve as keynote speakers and share our journey as first-generation Mexican-American attorneys this past Friday. As you step into this next chapter, never underestimate the impact you will have. The legal field needs your perspective and your leadership. Continue lifting others as you rise, stay proud of where you come from, and don’t forget that your success is already inspiring those coming behind you. Congratulations to the incredible graduates of Centro Legal de la Raza’s Youth Law Academy! Very grateful and honored to have been invited to speak to the graduates and hand out awards in recognition of their hard work and accomplishments. Super proud to celebrate the next generation of leaders, advocates, and future attorneys as they begin their journeys at institutions including UC Berkeley, UC Davis, UC Riverside, Chabot College, Laney College, Merritt College, and many other outstanding universities and colleges.

As first-generation attorneys ourselves, we deeply believe in fostering and supporting the next generation of attorneys, especially first-generation students who are breaking barriers and creating new opportunities for themselves, their families, and their communities. Your dedication, resilience, and ambition inspire all of us. Congratulations once again graduates, adelante!

When we launched Sus Derechos Podcast late in 2025, we simply hoped to create a space where Spanish-speaking families could hear clear, trustworthy information about their rights in their language, with dignity, and without fear.

Today, seeing our first 7 episodes together fills us with so much gratitude and humility.

Every conversation and every topic comes from the heart. What we share is for the hardworking parents, the dreamers building a better future, the workers who deserve to be treated fairly, and the families who should never feel alone when facing uncertainty.
