Emily joins the firm as a post-bar law clerk in our employment law practice, bringing a sharp foundation in workers’ rights. Before law school, she advised organizations on workforce strategy, change management, and internal communications, seeing firsthand how power moves inside the workplace and how often workers need someone in their corner.

That perspective led Emily to Stanford Law School and then to hands-on litigation experience across plaintiff-side firms, where she worked on matters involving product liability, consumer protection, criminal defense, and complex motion practice.

We’re excited to have Emily on the team as she continues building a practice rooted in accountability and the fight for just treatment at work.

Jury selection has changed for Craig Peters because the work has gotten more exacting.

On the International Academy of Trial Lawyers podcast, Craig shares how he's moving away from the old shorthand trial lawyers can fall into when they try to read a panel too quickly. Altair Law joined Walk SF for Peak2Peak, Walk San Francisco’s annual urban walking adventure and fundraiser for safer, more walkable streets.

A walk through San Francisco should not require luck. Pedestrian safety depends on choices made before someone steps into a crosswalk: street design, driver accountability, visibility, speed, and the simple expectation that people should be able to move through their city without risking their lives.

We had a great time supporting Walk SF’s work and spent the day with a community pushing for streets that protect the people using them.

Congratulations to Andje Medina, CAOC's incoming 2027 Parliamentarian.

Andje stepping into this role reinforces what so many people already know about her: she's always willing to do the work and leads with purpose. Her commitment to the plaintiff bar extends beyond her own cases and into the broader fight for accountability, access to justice, and the people our civil justice system is meant to protect.

Andje Medina spent the weekend on the faculty side of that table, working through strategy with attorneys getting ready to try their cases. She came away struck by how much sharper everyone's thinking gets when trial lawyers put real cases on the table and talk them through, out loud, with people who have been there.

That was the setup for SFTLA's intensive trial program, and the format is what made it work. Each faculty member was paired with just one or two mentees, so the conversations stayed specific: the actual case, the actual facts, the actual decisions someone has to make before they walk into a courtroom.

This is the value of a group like SFTLA. When trial lawyers pool what they've learned, everyone's practice gets stronger. Thank you SFTLA for making room for this kind of work.
