Attorney Vikas Bajaj appeared last night on Fox News with Trace Gallagher as the Lindsay Clancy murder trial heads toward the jury, and as Meta agrees to a $17 billion kids settlement.

The Clancy murder trial raises a serious question of which charges go to the jury. The judge allowed a manslaughter option. Bajaj said that protects the record. Without it, a murder conviction could be almost a guaranteed ground for reversal. It also opens a compromise verdict.

The Meta settlement, he said, is a calculated move to cut losses short. Screen-time limits for children are not the job of a court. That is the job of the parent.

Attorney Vikas Bajaj appeared on K**I News San Diego as the Lindsay Clancy murder trial hits its final days.

In California, Texas, and New York, the defense usually has to prove insanity. Massachusetts flips it: the Commonwealth must prove a mental disorder did not wipe out knowing right from wrong. Bajaj: that forces the prosecutor to prove a negative.

Three doors: guilty, not guilty, or not criminally responsible. He does not see a full acquittal. Not criminally responsible still means years in a facility, not walking free.

Attorney Vikas Bajaj appeared last night on Fox News with Trace Gallagher to discuss the high-profile Lindsay Clancy murder trial in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Drawing on his experience of over 25 years as a trial lawyer, Attorney Vikas Bajaj exposes the potential dangers in relying upon experts who attempt to let the fact finder know what is going on in the mind of another.

Attorney Bajaj describes Luigi Mangione’s Federal guilty plea to stalking resulting in death, which carries a maximum of life in prison. The U.S. Attorney’s Office did not sign off on the plea, as they wanted nothing to do with it beyond airing the facts at trial, says Bajaj.

Attorney Bajaj then outlined the state case, where the District Attorney’s Office will oppose the defense motion to dismiss the murder charge. Attorney Bajaj breaks down the significant legal hurdles the Mangione defense faces trying to get the state case dismissed in New York.

The reinstatement of ICE traffic stops is a major development for public safety. He compared it to New York’s stop-and-frisk era that dramatically reduced homicides.

Attorney Bajaj also discussed the California truck driver sentencing, explaining the judge followed state law for young defendants with no record. He believes real change must come from the legislature and better oversight of trucking companies.

Attorney Vikas Bajaj appeared on Fox News at Night with Josh Ritter to discuss the tragic Juneteenth weekend violence in Chicago, where multiple people lost their lives. President Trump offered federal assistance, and Attorney Bajaj highlighted successful cooperation in Memphis and D.C. as proof it’s a genuine offer of help.

The segment also covered the Supreme Court case involving a D.C. statute and the reasonable Black person standard. Justices Thomas and Alito dissented, and Attorney Bajaj noted that a stronger circuit split will likely bring this issue back to SCOTUS, signaling where the Court may lean.

Last night Attorney Bajaj joined Trace Gallagher on Fox News at Night to explain the requirements for self-defense under Texas law in the murder charge against Karmelo Anthony following the stabbing of Austin Metcalf at a track meet.

Prosecution position: Not self-defense — the defendant brought a knife, failed to act reasonably, and fled the scene.

Defense position: Clear self-defense — Anthony warned Metcalf not to touch him, was much smaller than his attacker, and made a split-second decision to protect himself.

Attorney Bajaj emphasized that the Texas judge is ensuring the law is followed, denying defense motions alleging racial bias in jury selection. This case is not about race. It is about the proper application of self-defense law.

This nationally charged case raises important legal and practical issues confronting the country today. Watch and share your thoughts.

• Increasing violence and threats targeting federal officers amid protests at a New Jersey detention facility, including the difference between general statements and actionable threats, and the potential for federal DOJ involvement.

Authorities report the act as intentional, with the individual under the influence and lacking legal U.S. residency. Attorney Bajaj highlighted likely evidence and additional charges such as illegal possession of a firearm.
