We'll need to see rates near 5% to see the real estate market pop. Lack of listings (due to sellers staying put with sub 3% mortgages) combined with buyers sitting tight until rates come down, has created a "stalled" market. I am seeing so much pent up demand in San Diego's real esate market which portends the next acceleration in sales and in values (pricing). A few months ago it looked like that could happen as soon as late 2024 but recent Fed comments suggest it's starting to look like we'll see those lower rates in 2025 followed by a bull real estate market.

California housing market will rebound in 2024 as mortgage rates ebb.

So what does one do the day before they leave on a 3 week honeymoon to Europe? They buy a new home of course! I'm so happy for my clients who closed this week on this fabulous Encinitas home. The day before they were leaving for Spain I sent them this new listing, we viewed the property and then wrote an offer. By the time they landed the next day our offer was accepted 👏 Four weeks later, I was handing them the keys to their new home to start the next chapters of their lives together. Does not get better than that! Congratulations Sarah and Joe! 🏠😁👍
