For the first two years, Patrick worked in the ICU at Oak Knoll Naval Hospital. Then, he went on to serve the next six with the Marines on Camp Pendleton. His duties included preventive medicine, combat medicine, combat skills instructor and medical intelligence. eaching course based on the fundamentals of leadership and time management. After the military, Patrick managed a medical facility that focused on occupational health while working towards his bachelor’s degree. Patrick attended California State University San Marcos, earning his B.A. During his senior year, he was selected to be the Editor-in-Chief of the university’s student newspaper, The Pride. Because of his work with the newspaper, Patrick won the school’s award for leader of the year of an organization. As a writing student, Patrick received accolades from his professors for his short stories and poems, having selections published in school magazines. Graduating Magna Cum Laude, Patrick went on to work as a technical writer/editor for a military contract company helping to write secret manuals and government contract proposals. While attending Thomas Jefferson School of Law, Patrick worked at the Veteran’s Legal Assistance clinic, providing legal assistance to homeless veterans at the Veteran’s Village of San Diego. Working as a certified law student, he was able to obtain relief in child support arrears and worked to argue disabilities benefits from the Veterans Administration and Social Security for the Veterans. Patrick is a Member of the State Bar of California in good standing and is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association ("SDCBA"). Patrick practices Social Security Benefits (SSDI and SSI).
