hello everyone,

As some of you know, I am in the middle of a major move, bringing together two households and multiple storage units into one. It is a big undertaking, and now I have the added challenge of my phone being completely destroyed. Since my phone has been my primary work device on the go, this has caused some unexpected delays in projects and commitments.

Some may wonder:

• Why not just get a new phone?
• Why not switch to a laptop?

The truth is, I do not currently have a laptop. My phone has been my main tool for multimedia work, and it has served me well, at least until it was smashed beyond use. As for replacing it, the moving expenses have me covering rent and costs for three households and multiple storage units at once. Right now, purchasing a new device simply is not possible.

The other household being moved is my mother’s. She now needs someone close by to watch over her, especially after a few recent emergency room visits. It is my honor and joy to be there for her, though it does take much of my time. Because of this, and with resources stretched thin, I am handling the move mostly on my own. I am also no spring chicken myself, living with rheumatoid arthritis and daily pain, so progress is slow but steady.

This will temporarily affect all of my projects and businesses, including:

• Truly Impartial Professionals Learning Center
• LGBTQ Notary Association
• Zara Shea, Notary Public & Multi-Services

In other words, anything currently in motion is on pause, and I may be harder to reach during this time. For my notary business, I will be handing over client calls temporarily to trusted colleagues. In the future, as part of being better prepared, I will also have colleagues in place who can step in for my other projects, because they are all equally important to me.

For members of the LGBTQ Notary Association:

During this pause, while there will be a gap, your membership will be proportionately extended to ensure you receive the full value of your time. Even if my availability is temporarily limited, your membership will be honored without compromise. I will make my best effort to ensure you are satisfied with how this is handled.

It is surprising how one broken device can ripple through everything when you least expect it. I sincerely apologize to those impacted by these delays, and I will make sure I am better prepared in the future. I will provide an update once everything is back on track.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this transition. As soon as I am able to replace my phone and settle this move, I look forward to returning to the work and collaborations I love most.

With thanks to Marketing4Notaries (Jen) for the invitation, Zara Shea, Notary Public and founder of the LGBTQ Notary Association, offers a meaningful look at what real impartiality should look like in notarial and professional work. She points to the everyday harm experienced by LGBTQ+ people, especially transgender, non-binary, and intersex individuals, when their legal documents do not reflect who they are. These clients are often misnamed, misgendered, or even denied service. Zara makes it clear that impartiality means honoring identity and treating every client with fairness, not just stepping aside or staying silent.

The message also reaches further, focusing on how impartial service benefits many different people. That includes those with unique family structures, people who have been incarcerated, individuals connected to cannabis use, or clients living in environments that may be stigmatized. Professionals must choose to set aside assumptions and meet every person with respect and care.

To help turn this principle into daily practice, Zara introduces the Notarial Impartiality Standard Certification and reopens the 2025 LGBTQ Notary Association membership intake, now with perks like Lifetime Legacy Vaults. These programs are designed to give notaries and service providers real tools to uphold fairness without bias or ideology. If your work involves people, this message is for you. Let your stamp stand for dignity, and let your presence be one that builds trust for every person, every time.

Every person deserves to be seen. To be respected. To be served with dignity. That shouldn’t be a controversial statement, and yet, in far too many professional settings, members of the LGBTQ+ community are still being met with hesitation, bias, or outright discrimination. That is unacceptable. As ...

Meet Zara Shea – Founder of Zara Shea, Notary Public and LGBTQ Notary Association, Caregiver, and Creative Professional

Hello, LinkedIn! I’m Zara Shea, founder of Zara Shea, Notary Public and the LGBTQ Notary Association. My path to becoming a notary has been one of dedication to both community and creativity. Since 1996, I’ve worked as a graphic and website designer, blending artistry and technical skill to bring visions to life online and in print. This background, paired with years as a caregiver, has given me a unique perspective in my work as a notary public – one that values precision, empathy, and creative problem-solving.

My journey began in caregiving, supporting adults with developmental and intellectual abilities in both home settings and adult day care facilities. For over two decades, I have dedicated myself to service, including caring for my mother, a responsibility I cherish. These experiences paved the way to my current role as a mobile notary in San Diego, where I bring professionalism, integrity, and accessibility directly to clients across our diverse community.

Through Zara Shea, Notary Public, I provide estate planning, legal document notarizations, and business contracts with personalized service. As a Certified Trust Delivery Agent (CTDA) and cannabis-friendly notary, I aim to meet each client's unique needs with respect, confidentiality, and care. Additionally, my work with the LGBTQ Notary Association reflects my commitment to inclusivity, ensuring that all clients feel welcomed and respected.

I’m passionate about notarial impartiality, a principle I continue to study and uphold. Every service I offer is grounded in trust, impartiality, and a commitment to serve. Let’s connect, collaborate, and make notarization a seamless experience for your needs. Reach out to me directly at (760) 385-3662 for reliable mobile notary services throughout San Diego.

Notaries hold a unique position of trust in society. Their commitment to secular impartiality means providing services without any hint of personal beliefs or biases, creating a neutral space for everyone. This principle isn’t just a professional guideline; it’s grounded in the values embedded in U.S. law and the Constitution.

In fact, the U.S. Constitution emphasizes secularism and impartiality as core principles. Through the Establishment Clause in the First Amendment, the Constitution underscores the separation of church and state, ensuring that government functions—like notarization—are free from religious influence or bias. This commitment to secular governance is further supported by the Full Faith and Credit Clause (Article IV, Section 1), which helps uphold fairness and neutrality in public records and transactions across state lines.

As a secular nation, the U.S. requires its public officials, including notaries, to serve all citizens equally—regardless of their personal beliefs, religion, or non-belief. The goal is to ensure that every individual feels respected and secure when engaging in official processes, knowing that their own or the official’s personal beliefs won’t interfere.

Now, here’s a question for you! Which of these notaries do you think best exemplifies secular impartiality in their appearance? Each one brings their unique style, but only one aligns with the standard of complete neutrality. Let us know your thoughts in the comments!

Let’s celebrate the dedication of notaries to professionalism, inclusivity, and neutrality. In a diverse nation like ours, it’s essential that public services remain welcoming and accessible to all.

As notaries, maintaining political and secular impartiality is a legal obligation under the United States Constitution. It's not only about performing our duties—it's about ensuring our appearance and actions consistently reflect the neutrality we are trusted to uphold.

šŸ’¼ Take a look at the notaries in the image! šŸ’¼

Which notary do you think best demonstrates *impartial* appearance? šŸ¤” Let us know in the comments! šŸ‘‡

Remember, impartiality means providing fair and unbiased service to all, regardless of political, religious, or personal beliefs. Let's keep the conversation going about how we can uphold this standard every day. šŸ’Ŗ
