Our very own Phil Lindsley was interviewed by Jill Castellano for a story out yesterday in KPBS San Diego News. The story discusses the history of staffing shortages at nursing homes, which have left them especially vulnerable to the pandemic.

This is an important read for all, even more so for those with a loved one in a facility.

Our partners at inewsource scoured state and federal inspection reports, databases and lawsuits to examine the histories of the 12 San Diego nursing homes with the most coronavirus cases.

Our very own Phil Lindsley is quoted in Jared Whitlock's latest article in The Voice, which looks into a recent COVID-19 lawsuit filed against a local nursing facility.

This story by Jared Whitlock in The Voice highlights the problems with non-medical Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFEs) trying to cope with fragile elders and those with chronic medical conditions in a COVID-19 world. Unlike skilled nursing facilities, they are not staffed for this, and the staff they have is not trained to deal with medical issues. There are enough problems with getting adequate care in skilled nursing. The problems with the RCFEs is much worse, and not getting adequate attention. Thanks Jared!

Elmcroft of La Mesa reported 12 resident deaths related to the novel coronavirus in the 56-bed memory care site. The facility has a history of regulatory violations.
