Filipino American Lawyers of San Diego is a volunteer-based, non-profit organization dedicated to advancing Filipino American legal professionals and the Asian Pacific American community. FALSD provides educational, networking and business opportunities for its members. FALSD regularly hosts and co-sponsors CLEs, mixers, volunteer events and legal clinics. FALSD serves the community by volunteerin

g with organizations including Project Facelift, Dress for Success, Bagong Kulturang Pilipino – California, San Diego Food Bank and I Love A Clean San Diego. FALSD members routinely volunteer with Legal Aid Society of San Diego, providing pro bono services to individuals in need. Finally, FALSD strongly supports local law students by providing mentorship, educational seminars and by awarding scholarships to deserving students to cover the cost of taking the State Bar Examination. These scholarships are awarded to 3Ls from a variety of backgrounds who have demonstrated a commitment to our stated mission, including advancing the interests of the Filipino-American community and the greater AAPI community as a whole, as well as shown the potential to succeed.

📣 SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY 📣

Are you a young lawyer looking to develop your trial skills? Do you want to build more practical experience in the courtroom? The San Diego Inn of Court's Trial Program teaches each element of the jury trial in a series of lectures and demonstrations, and then provides attorneys the opportunity to practice those skills in an actual courtroom with experienced local judges and lawyers coaching and mentoring them. It takes place on 6 evenings over 3 consecutive weeks and includes three presentations by prominent San Diego trial attorneys and members of the judiciary, as well as three “hands on” workshops facilitated by experienced workshop leaders and judges. The format is a Thursday lecture followed by a Tuesday workshop.

The cost to register is $400 for private practice attorneys and $350 for non-profit/public sector attorneys. The deadline to register is October 3, 2025, with the program beginning on October 9.
