Set to take effect on April 1, 2020, the Families First Coronavirus Relief Act (FFCRA) imposes the following new laws on employers: two weeks (80 hours) of paid sick leave for employees who need leave because (1) emergency orders have closed their child’s school or childcare; or (2) the employee or their family members face testing, quarantines, treatment or isolation for an infection or suspected infection of COVID-19.
