Most San Diego families don't know there's a warrant out on one of their own until the moment it becomes a problem.

A traffic stop. While on vacation at an airport.. A routine background check for a new job.

And then it's not an abstract thing anymore. It's someone being taken into custody in front of the kids. Or missing a flight and ruining a vacation. Or losing a job offer before they even start.

Here's what almost nobody knows.

A warrant can often be handled before any of that ever has to happen.

Sometimes it can be resolved proactively by posting bond through the County or a bondsman, without the person ever being booked into jail.

Sometimes a criminal defense firm can get the warrant recalled without the accused ever having to go to court at all.
Sometimes there does need to be a surrender. But even then, there's real strategy behind it. What day. What time. How. To whom. All of it matters.

What almost never works is ignoring it and hoping it goes away. Because it won’t.

If someone in the family has even a question about whether there's an outstanding warrant in San Diego, finding out through a qualified, locally experienced criminal defense firm is dramatically better than finding out at a TSA line or a traffic stop on Interstate 8.

In this video we walk through the options, the strategy, and the steps that protect the person and the family.

Protect your freedom. Protect your future. Know your rights.

Here's how one of the most damaging types of criminal accusations typically unfolds in San Diego, and why the things most people do first are the things that hurt them the most.

Someone learns they've been accused.

Maybe it's from a detective. Maybe it's from a family member who was contacted. Maybe from a friend. Maybe from a child protective services worker at their front door.

Their first instinct is to try and fix it themselves.

They try to reach out to the accuser to explain or to apologize for whatever the accuser thinks happened, even if nothing did. They hope that if they can just get to the person on the other side of this, they can clear it up.

It never ends well when you go down that path.

The reality is, by the time someone finds out they've been accused, there's often been an investigation going on for days, if not weeks or months. People in their life have been contacted. Their past has been researched. Every move they make now is being watched.

Reaching out to an accuser can be perceived as an act of witness intimidation. A text message becomes evidence. A phone call becomes a new count on a future Criminal Complaint or Information..

What to actually do is far different, and much more simple than most people think.

Do not contact the accuser. Do not talk to detectives without an attorney present. Do not post anything online about the accusations.

Get an attorney involved who actually handles these cases at the highest of levels. Not just any criminal defense attorney, but one who knows how California prosecutes them and what's at stake, including potential registration consequences that can last a lifetime.

Our firm has earned not-guilty verdicts at jury trial on some of the most serious allegations California prosecutes. We've had a great number of these types of charges dismissed before trial. You can see some of those results on our site.
No outcome is ever guaranteed in a criminal case. But the fight for one requires a firm that knows how to handle these cases at the highest level.

In this video, I walk through the timeline, the investigation, and the moves that protect someone versus the ones that inevitably can make it worse.

The first time most San Diego families walk into a courthouse on a criminal case, nobody has told them what's actually going to happen inside that room.

They sit there.

Hours pass. Names get called. People get pulled aside.

The whole thing feels like it's moving around them instead of with them, and certainly not for them.

Here's what nobody tells families in advance.

The arraignment isn't where the case gets decided. It's where the case gets set up.

What happens in those few minutes shapes how the next few months unfold, but only if someone understands what to listen for.

In this video we walk through it step by step. What the judge will say. What the prosecutor will say. What the defense should be doing while sitting there waiting.

And the questions every family should be asking their attorney before leaving the building that morning.
For a family staring down a criminal court date in San Diego, ten minutes of this video will give more clarity than the entire morning at the courthouse will.

Protect your freedom. Protect your future. Know your rights.

“Free Consultations” Aren’t Free. 🤔

Oftentimes they get you “in the door,” but offer neither clarity nor solutions how to get closer toward protecting your freedom and future.

Is that really how you want to spend your time when facing criminal charges? 💡
