What an exciting day to be a California notary! 🙌

AB 1597 has officially been signed into law! This is a huge win for our profession and a reminder that when we come together, our voices can make a real difference.

Starting January 1, 2027, the Notarization fee will go from $15 to $20. With the rising cost of living, This will help notaries to continue to provide services that deter fraud and protect people’s trust.

Thank you to everyone who advocated, supported, and believed in this effort. I’m excited to see what this means for the future of notaries across California.

POV: You showed up to notarize one signature and somehow got the full life story, family drama, medical history, and what happened in 1997 before you could even open your stamp bag 😂

Meanwhile I’m just over here trying to get in, notarize the documents, and get to my next appointment on time. Notaries really double as therapists sometimes comment below if your a notary and you experienced this before too😅
