Both of my clients below made history, sandwiched in between the Griffey and James father son combos.

LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON: LeBron James Sr. and his son, Bronny, made NBA history Tuesday night by playing in the same game, Tim Raines and Tim Raines Jr. also played together in Baltimore in the early 2000's.

June 13, 1973, pitcher Dave Winfield (Saint Paul, MN) of the Minnesota Gophers was named the College World Series Most Outstanding Player. He tossed 17⅓​ innings in his two starts while allowing just one earned run and striking out 29.-

In addition, Winfield batted .467 in the series.-

One of the greatest athletes of all time, Winfield was drafted into Major League Baseball by the San Diego Padres, the NBA by the Atlanta Hawks, the ABA by the Utah Stars and the NFL by the Minnesota Vikings.-

Winfield grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota. Dave Winfield and his brothers honed their athletic skills in St. Paul's Oxford playground, where coach Bill Peterson was one of the first to notice Winfield. -

Winfield did not become a formidable 6'6" athlete until his senior year at Saint Paul Central High School and he struggled his first year in college baseball batting .250 with zero (0) homeruns. -

He earned a full baseball scholarship to the University of Minnesota in 1969, where he starred in baseball and basketball for the Minnesota Golden Gophers. -

Winfield's 1972 Minnesota team won a Big Ten Conference basketball championship, the school's first sole outright championship in 53 years.-

Winfield also played for the Alaska Goldpanners of Fairbanks for two seasons (1971–72) and was the MVP in 1972. -
