Some days the client disbursement check is bigger than others. But remember, with these big checks, come big injuries. I’m glad I was able to get fair justice for a deserving client. Call me if you need help becase someone has injured you through no fault of your own. I would love to help.

My social media manager (me) has been falling down on the job again so I'm a little late to the party. That being said, I have some exciting news to share - I've been selected to the 2025 Texas Super Lawyers List. Big thanks to my clients for trusting me with their matters, and to my fellow attorneys for the recognition!

I’ve been a little lazy on my social media lately. That’s about to change peeps! Be on the lookout! In the meantime, I gave a client a nice check today for injuries he sustained in a crazy car crash incident. It wasn’t life changing money, but he didn’t have life changing injuries, thank God. He was happy, that’s all that matters. (And yes, I hand write all my client’s disbursement checks! It’s an honor to do so.)

Please don't let this family's story become your family's story. The threat is real. Tell your legislators to vote no on SB 30/ HB 4806 as well as SB 39/HB 4688. These bills are not about lowering insurance premiums or fake "nuclear verdicts." They are about ensuring continued skyrocketing profits of insurance companies and protecting businesses that put their financial bottom lines above the safety of all Texans.

This is not how our justice system should work, yet our legislature continues to try and chip away your rights every session in favor of big business and insurance companies. Don’t fall for their lies.

Forty years ago this week, a tree fell on Greg Abbott, paralyzing the future governor. He sued for damages and won—and then helped to stifle similar lawsuits.

Injured people and the lawyers who represent them are not the reason that insurance rates are out of control. Insurance rates are insane because insurance companies are multi-billion dollar enterprises whose only true function is to increase their profits from one quarter to the next. Two bills working their way through the Texas Legislature that are supported by insurance companies will put arbitrary caps on your damages and limit your healthcare choices when you are injured by someone else. Please click on the below link and fill out the form to tell your elected officials that you are NOT OK with your private medical care decisions and the value of your non-economic damages being decided by elected officials and that they should VOTE NO on SB 30 and HB 4806.

Insurance and corporate lobbyists are pushing dangerous bills at the State Capitol that will limit your healthcare choices and impose a cap on damages if you are seriously injured. This is a giveaway to insurance companies at the expense of ordinary Texans.

It’s not very often a client thanks you for representing them with a signed copy of their very own book. David Quanstrom is a fantastic author and his book Mesa, Texas is a great read. Go and get you a copy on Amazon if you have any interest in law enforcement thrillers including the famed Texas Rangers. Thanks, David. It was a pleasure to help you.

Attending a CLE (continuing legal education) course today to brush up on my representation of people injured by big rigs and other heavy trucks. It’s nice to be back in person and not staring at a screen.

I am sure that you are all tired of hearing me talk about the trucking bill and how dangerous it is for Texans. So, now you get to hear me talk about another bill and how GOOD it is for Texans. HB 359 would make insurance companies do what you pay premiums to them to do, and pay you for your injuries when you are injured by someone who either does not have enough insurance to cover the damages they caused you, or does not have any insurance at all. Current law requires you to essentially file a lawsuit against your insurance company when you are injured by someone who is underinsured or uninsured to obtain the benefits that you have paid premiums to receive. In essence when you buy underinsured and uninsured motorist coverage you are buying a right to sue your insurance company for those benefits. That is not what that coverage is being bought for. Tell your Legislators to support HB 359 so you don't have to call me to sue your own insurance company and make them do the right thing when you're hit by someone is underinsured or uninsured.

When you pay more to purchase insurance to protect yourself from uninsured and underinsured motorists (UM/UIM), you expect your insurance company to pay up after a wreck. But a Texas Supreme Court case called Brainard v. Trinity Universal Insurance complicates things unnecessarily, forcing you to go...
