Many businesses attract attention.

Far fewer create successful acquisitions.

Revenue, growth, and market opportunity often generate initial interest, but long-term ownership success is usually determined by operational realities such as:

• management continuity
• customer retention
• operational stability
• transferability
• financial clarity

A butterfly attracts attention.

A garden sustains value.

The same principle often applies in business acquisitions.

Most business owners think their business is worth more than the market will pay.

The reason is usually not effort or growth.

It’s risk.

Buyers evaluate:

financial clarity

Most business owners think their business is worth what they’ve built.

Buyers see it differently.

They look at:

1. Risk
2. Predictability
3. How easily they can take over

Two businesses with the same numbers can have very different values.

The difference is how the business is structured.

Most business owners leave money on the table when they sell.

Not because their business isn’t good…
But because it isn’t prepared.

Buyers don’t pay for effort.
They pay for:

predictable cash flow
low risk
businesses that run without the owner

If you’re thinking about selling in the next few years, what you do today will impact your price later.

I put together a short breakdown of how to increase your business value before selling.
