‼️REMINDER‼️: The PATH Act is still in effect for this upcoming tax season.

If your tax return includes the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or the Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC), your refund cannot be issued before February 15th.

This delay is required by law under the PATH Act and is enforced by the Internal Revenue Service.

What this means for you:
Your return can still be filed early
The IRS can still accept your return
But your refund will not be processed or released until after February 15th.

This applies even if everything on your return is correct.

This delay provides the IRS with additional time to verify income and prevent fraudulent claims before issuing payments.

‼️TAX CREDIT CONFUSION - HERE ARE THE FACTS‼️

Earned Income Tax Credit vs Child Tax Credit

EITC (Earned Income Tax Credit)
✅ Maxes out at 3 qualifying children
No matter how many children you have, EITC still only counts 3 (you should still list all your children on your income tax return)

CTC (Child Tax Credit)
✅ Applies to ALL qualifying children UNDER age 17
No 3-child cap here. Every eligible child counts.

This is why two families with the same number of kids can get very different refunds.
Please keep in mind that everybody situation is different. A lot depends on your taxable wages for the year.

✅ Their income is below IRS limits
✅ They live with you or qualify as your parent
✅ No one else is claiming them

What you may get:
✅ Up to $500 Credit for Other Dependents
✅ Possible Head of Household status

‼️What you will NOT get:
❌ Child Tax Credit
❌ Earned Income Credit for the parent

Let’s clear this up BEFORE tax season gets chaotic…

Applying for a tax advance means you filed your taxes‼️‼️

☑️You cannot apply for an advance without filing
☑️The moment your tax preparer submits that advance request, your return is transmitted to the IRS and goes into queue waiting to be accepted.

Here’s what that means:

✅If your loan is approved you filed.
✅If your loan is denied you still filed.
There’s no “resubmitting” The return is already in the system.
✅Going to another preparer to try again is pointless.
✅Once your return hits the IRS queue, that’s it. A new preparer cannot “re-file” you for another loan.
✅Your tax preparer does NOT decide your loan approval.
The banks look at:
❗️previous loan history
❗️whether prior-year loans were paid back
❗️IRS issues tied to your account
❗️your expected refund amount
❗️internal bank risk scores

‼️If last year you got a loan and your refund never funded, the bank will NOT approve you this year no matter who you file with.

So please understand: switching from preparer to preparer does not increase your chances. It only creates confusion and delays your refund
