With more than 4 million breast cancer survivors living in the United States and a 99% five-year relative survival rate when detected at the earliest, localized stage, there is so much reason for hope.

Eight years cancer-free! One very important reason we keep sharing this message.

In 2017, Patti’s sister, Juli, was diagnosed with breast cancer after a routine mammogram detected a small lump. Because it was caught early, Juli was able to get the care she needed and today, she is celebrating eight years cancer-free.

Her story is the reason we continue this tradition every October. It’s a reminder that the appointment we’re tempted to put off deserves a place on the calendar.
So this Breast Cancer Awareness Month, take it from Juli: squeeze it in. Schedule your mammogram, stay current on your screenings and remind the women you love to do the same.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and here’s your annual reminder to schedule your mammogram, stay current on your screenings and encourage the women in your life to do the same.

For our family, this reminder is personal. Patti’s sister is a breast cancer survivor, so we have witnessed firsthand the strength it takes to face this disease and the importance of early detection.

Each October, we use this little tradition as an opportunity to reach out to women we care about and encourage them to prioritize their health. Life gets busy and it is easy to put off the things that don’t feel urgent, but this is one appointment worth squeezing in!
