A lot of people reach out when they’re already in a fight. Others reach out because they’d like to avoid one. Both approaches are valid.

Our firm helps with divorce, child custody, child support, adoption, modifications, surrogacy, and premarital or postmarital agreements, giving clients a clearer picture of what’s at risk and what can be protected. If your family situation is shifting and you want practical direction without the runaround, call (210) 229-2088.

People hear “uncontested divorce” and assume that means risk-free. Not true.

Even in a civil split, paperwork errors, missed assets, support blind spots, and bad assumptions about separate versus community property can haunt you long after the case is over. Retirement accounts alone get overlooked more often than they should. A fast divorce is not the same thing as a careful one. If the estate is sizable or children are involved, sloppy is expensive.

Family Law FAQ: Can a child decide which parent to live with in Texas?

Not by themselves. A child’s preference may be considered in some situations, especially if the child is older, but the court still decides based on the child’s best interests. One opinion does not end the discussion. Judges may also look at stability, parenting history, school, safety, and each parent’s ability to meet the child’s needs.
