Happy 70th Birthday to Alfre Woodard.

Born November 8, 1952, She is an actress. Woodward has received various accolades, including four Primetime Emmy Awards (tying the record for the most acting Emmys won by an African-American performer, along with Regina King), a Golden Globe Award, and three Screen Actors Guild Awards, in addition to nominations for an Academy Award and two Grammy Awards.

In 2020, The New York Times ranked Woodard seventeenth on its list of "The 25 Greatest Actors of the 21st Century".

You've received other emails from me about issues I hear of or read about. Today it's about me. Received a letter from my bank that they had declined an application for a new credit card under my name because it appeared fraudulent. The letter was dated July 16 and today is July 20.

I called them and told them notification by mail is ridiculous . Why not a phone call or next day delivery. Where is the urgency? Their answer was that there are so many they can't.

I'm not going to name them as i have been with hem since 1987, and they have served me well. And they are no different from any other bank, and have too many accounts to get notices to.

I called Kroll and they immediately put out a notice to the credit bureau and other notifications.

I know that i will sleep tonight with no worry as Kroll is on it.

Would you be able to contact someone like Kroll Fraud Solutions? If not you and your spouse or significant other may need to use lots of time to get to all the places you have accounts... 8 to 5 Monday through Friday.

Kroll will let me know step by step and where they are so I know all is well. I'll sleep well tonight. Kroll has my back.

Business 214 Breaches 2,391,665 Records

Education 53 Breaches 366,196 Records

Gov / Military 22 Breaches 5,631,359 Records

Medical/Healthcare 154 Breaches 4,275,430 Records

year to date totals: 454 breaches 12,669,555 records

THESE NUMBERS OVER A 12 MONTH BASIS:

1090 BREACHES 30,406,932 RECORDS

If you don't know records means an IDENTITY. More than 12 million people have had their identity jeopardized year to date.

This link takes you to Privacy Rights Clearing House, a non profit that tracks identity theft and the many breaches that have occurred in the U.S. .

These are good tips. You can never have enough, but if you don't follow them you are responsible for the results. Even with these there will always be ways that hackers and Identity Thieves will get hold of Personally Identifiable Information (PII). This consist of date of birth, Social Security Number, drivers licence number, passport number and Medical Insurance ID number. Privacy Rights Clearinghouse is a California nonprofit corporation with 501(c)(3) tax exempt status. Their mission is" to engage, educate and empower individuals to protect their privacy. We identify trends and communicate our findings to advocates, policymakers, industry, media and consumers."
They tracked 169 Breaches in 2015 where almost 160 million records (individuals) were hacked, and we have a month to go.
